When I first received this citrus press, I noticed it’s large size compared to my older ones. I thought it may be too big for what I needed it for but it was not. After using it for the first time, I actually prefer the larger size because I won’t have to cut down the fruit if it doesn’t fit. The stainless steel construction allows me to use this tool without worrying about the tool chipping paint or some kind of coating down the road. The silicone handles allow a comfortable grip when pressing. I think it’s nicely made and from my experience, this tool will be much easier to clean with a quick rinse. This is a nice tool to have for quick presses for recipes but if doing large batches of juice, I would still recommend a electric juicer. Although easy to use and depending on the fruit, it could take some time to press a full glass of juice. I am a flipper so once I juice one side I flip it and press again to get the remaining juice. This juicer does what I expected, and juices lemons, limes, and small oranges. The handle was comfortable compared to my previous juicer. It got out 90% of the juice from the fruit, I was able to get more juice out, but it took way too much effort. I will just stick to what comes out of the juicer from now on! I did take off one star because it is not dishwasher safe. It was relatively easy to hand wash the juicer, but I would have preferred something that I could just toss in the dishwasher. Read more
I have a similar style juicer that I use for lemons and limes. I never realized they made them in different sizes. It stands to reason but I had never seen any other sizes and didn't really think anything about it until I saw this one. I love the larger size. I occasionally find that some lemons are bigger and don't fit very well in the smaller size juicer I have, so having something larger is great. It feels very well made and feels like solid metal. The covering over the handle part is also a nice touch. Overall I'm really happy with this juicer. Read more
This lemon squeezer is a nice large size that accommodates even the bigger lemons. It has a heavy weight to it that makes it very easy to squeeze the lemons. We have a smaller lemon squeezer that is much lighter; it does the job, but this bigger/heavier one is easier to use and seems to get more of the juice out of the lemon than the smaller lemon squeezer. We have had issues with other squeezers in the past having the plating erode off of it due to the acidity of the lemons over time. But, with this squeezer being stainless steel there is no concern of deterioration of the plating from the lemon juice. This thing is well made, and will stand up to a LOT of use without deforming. We have an old juicer that was also stainless steel, but of a much lighter gauge than this one. I weighed them -- the old one weighs just over 7 ounces; this one weighs just under 14 ounces! You could say this one is twice the juicer the old one was! It FEELS hefty. I think you'd be hard pressed (excuse the pun!) to deform this one, where our old one was squished out of complete round not long after we got it. My son is a bartender's assistant, and as such, has squeezed his share of lemons and limes, and he said this one feels as professional as any he's ever used. The only reason for down-rating from the 5 stars the product deserves, is that "what was promised" is not the same as you actually get. The web site stated "The stainless steel fruit juicer comes with a large 550ml capacity container that allows you to squeeze and store more juice" -- but there is no container. The web site stated "Easy to disassemble" -- but it does NOT disassemble at all. The pivot pin is riveted in place and the two halves cannot be separated for easier cleaning. One other item of note: When washing this product, you have to make sure to dry the TOP piece extra well. The way the metal is formed, there is a ring around the top piece that traps water when it is being washed, which is unhandy. It does not affect how the juicer works, but it leaves a question in my mind as to whether that space will be wet when I put it away, and whether it will harbor germs. I may have to silicone-putty that space closed for my peace of mind. Read more
The media could not be loaded. We like to add lime to many of the Mediterranean and Latin American meals we cook and after we've juiced hundreds of limes by hand over the years we decided to try a citrus press. While there is nothing as effective an a hand squeeze and a butter knife to scrape the insides of the lime (or an electric juicer, but who wants to clean one of those everything after the use for 1 lime), this press is indeed effective. There is a bit of juice left in the lime maybe 5% but it's so much easier then doing it by hand. Cut - press - toss in dishwasher or rinse off in sink. I find that if you put the cut side down its more effective which seems kind of counterintuitive since putting cut side up matches the natural contour of the fruit and press. Also giving the fruit a flip and a quick additional press gets more juice to come out. I'm not so sure just how effective it woukd be if your trying to juice oranges to drink because you'll need a lot of oranges and maybe an electric juicer woukd be best for making drinkable juice but for a quick extraction of juice from 1 to a few fruits this tool is very useful. It's sturdy, much more heavy duty then it looks in the pictures and is quite effective. Its easy to use and easy to clean. Overall a good choice for small juicing needs, this is not a junky cheap tool, it's very high quality construction. Read more
