I got these for Christmas gifts and don't want to give them away. Love the thick/clear glass. I am using them to make gifts in a jar. This is exactly what I wanted. It's just the right size for the space behind my bathtub for bath salts which I use every day. The lid just sits on top. It's not air tight but that's exactly what I wanted because with my arthritis I can't easily open air tight jars. I LOVE these glass jars. They are just like the ole tyme lidded glass jars, although a bit thinner now. But, the lid fits well and these jars look fantastic. Very cool. I am using one to hold all my extra bread baking sourdough starter. The overall diameter allows for easy pouring into and then easy access when I need to scope some out. Thank you for whoever sends these back for a return. These are wonderful containers. They’re very heavy duty. I love the gallon size we put our dogs dog food in the containers. So I believe the reason why people return these. Is because I think they feel like they’re missing the rubber ring around the lid. But just so you all know that these lids are heavy enough that there are no bugs can get into them. They are sealed very well. Yes, they are a little noisy when you put the lid on it unless you have autistic children or an adult in the home I don’t see a reason why you return it because it’s noisy when you put the lid on. I have been buying these glass containers for the past two times every time I get them half off. They’re an exceptional condition when someone returned them. All I’m saying is if you wanna have a nice big glass container that holds about a gallon of whatever it is. And you want your kitchen to look somewhat nice. Look at the new price.
