Customers find the blowtorch to be a good tool, particularly effective for heat shrink applications.
You need to add butane to the internal lighter on it. All the butane leaked out, so the thing didn’t work at all. This is absolutely worthless. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Read more
Works as advertised, though I think it's bit expensive for such a simple design that, BTW, arrived with very loose, untightened screws (easy fix). The single "lighter" that comes with the torch works for quite a while is refillable, and happily, easy to replace. How long the torch stays working, obviously depends on how much it's used. If you're working in a breeze or in cold weather you might consider buying a backup, refillable, heat source. Make sure you get the exact same type that is included with the torch, because a lighter that looks like it'll work most likely won't. Read more
I was hoping that it would have given off more distance but You need to basically need to be right up on what your working on. All in all It does the job but slow . Still worth having. Read more
It does the job! I've used it on heat shrink up to 2 guage for battery cables. For high quality, adhesive-lined heat shrink fittings, it takes a bit longer but once again, it does an excellent job! EDIT AFTER MORE USE The trigger mechanism developed a problem that I couldn't resolve and i stopped using it all together. I still do Marine electrical installations and I've found that a good single jet cigar lighter gives me all the heat I need. Read more
This is probably the biggest piece of junk for what the price is. Doesn’t work at all. The lighter inside doesn’t even come close to lining up with the hole to fill it so you will get light fluid everywhere trying to fill it if you don’t take the lighter out. Then once you waste your expensive lighter fluid you will then realize that it won’t even spark it when you try to use it. Then Amazon will try to charge you shipping to send it back broken/defective. All in all you lose. DONT BY THIS CRAP Read more
It has made shrink tubing in tight places a dream. No more charring wires or worrying about flame placement. I honestly get a better shrink with this torch because I don’t get hot spots and I’m not as worried about burning other wires in tight spots. Worth every penny. Read more
I originally bought this for a nice, quick solution for melting heat shrink. Does not work at all. Firstly, the fuel cell included had a faulty filling valve so all of the butane leaked out. Most importantly I could never get it to light. Not even once. Tried the included fuel cell and 3 other types of lighters as I thought that might be the problem and not once did it light. I would open the device afterwards and smell butane all within the chamber but it did not once light itself and work as intended. Do not buy. Rather buy an inexpensive blowtorch or heat gun. This is identical in all respects to the one issued to me when I was working on Robots. A good, solid, easy to use therm heat gun, easy to use shield and easy to refill with componets from any radio shack and most stores that sell lighters. Read more
