I purchased this after trying other inexpensive chair mats that were basically just thin rugs that never would lay flat or had kinks in it from being folded for delivery. I opted to spend a little extra and give this a try. It is PERFECT. First of all, it has a thick backing and gives protection to the floor but also allows the wheels to move. Secondly, NO CREASES! It comes packaged wonderfully. You just pull it out of the flat cardboard box, unfold once and it lays perfectly on the floor immediately. Quality is great. This is a good looking high quality mat. I'm using it in my home office on a COREtec floor and love it so much I'm buying another for use in the main house on a hardwood floor. It looks like a nice carpet but is stiff and will definitely protect your floor. I was hesitant at first because of the price but it is worth it. It lays flat and has a slip resistant bottom. This chair mat was everything I'd hoped for...heavy, durable, attractive and doesn't slip. My home office is carpeted and every chair mat I've purchased either cracks or shifts. Or both. This one will never crack and it accents my office decor. Again, there are a lot of less expensive chair mats out there, but this one is excellent even considering the price. I have this in my home office and bought it after going through multiple plastic chair mats. No matter how high quality they claim to be, they all eventually crack. I avoided glass mats because I do not like how freely they roll. I actually want some rolling resistance. This mat gets that part exactly right. The rolling resistance feels natural and controlled, and it stays in place. It feels very durable, and I fully expect it to last a long time. My only real complaint is the aesthetics. I went with a simple gray option, because none of the patterns fit my style, but it shows dirt easily and has started to fade over time. Functionally, it is excellent and very practical. If you are on the fence about this mat because of the price, don't be! I just moved and bought this mat to go under my office chair, on carpet. It is fantastic! It is hard, sturdy, and doesn't move! And your chair glides seamlessly. This is the best chair mat I have ever owned. And the wheels of my office chair don't make divots in the mat, like the other plastic ones. Highly recommend.
