Migrated from a TN monitor and WOW!

Riva Iron GripNovember 17, 2024

VISUALS: I “upgraded” to this monitor due to some panel problems with my Pixio Px276. TN panels are known to be “dull” or not have the best colour accuracy so I expected this VA panel to provide a big visual difference and I wasn’t disappointed. The blacks are very dark and not as grey as they appeared on my previous monitor. I am currently playing through FFXVI and wow, is it a visual spectacle on this monitor! When testing on dark games primarily like FF7 remake the contrast caused the other colours to really pop on the screen. The colours are more vibrant than my previous TN panel and creates a much more visually appealing display. CURVE: Initially I was concerned with the 1000R curvature but this turned out to be a non issue after a couple days of usage. I am not sure if it was necessary for a 27” monitor as I do still find myself turning my head slightly when trying to focus on content at the furthest edge of the screen but I sit about two and a half feet away from it so it may not be an issue if you are closer. I have found that the curve does provide a more immersive experience when gaming or watching a movie. FRAMERATE: I don’t play competitive games so the 240HZ of this monitor is a bit overkill for my needs plus I don’t really have the GPU power to run newer titles at that frame rate. I did however try some older titles like Borderlands 2 to experience these high frame rates and they are buttery smooth although I personally can’t really seem to tell the difference between the 100s and 200s range. HDR: Unfortunately HDR is not supported on Ubuntu yet but I did try to test it on a Windows 10 machine and was left a bit perplexed. Now, I had heard that HDR wasn’t great on PC/Windows but I did not expect to have giant pixilated blocks with HDR enabled. I understand that some fine tuning is required to get HDR to work properly but I did not bother to pursue it as HDR wasn’t really a requirement for me but more of a bonus feature of the monitor. NEGATIVES: The only negative is that I found the menus to be a bit cumbersome to navigate at least when compared to my previous Pixio monitor. In my opinion the “normal” colour mode appeared to be more accurate than the default “warm” selection but I have barely made any changes to the monitor, using it with mostly default out of the box settings. I know there is an app that can be installed instead of fiddling with the monitor controls but I haven’t tested it. CONCLUSION: The monitor has worked great with no dead pixels etc over the last couple months of usage and do I hope it continues to last with no issues. I have known AOC to be a good legacy brand at least from the CRT days and I hope that legacy has been upheld over the years so that it has the same type of longevity and reliability as those older monitors. I think it’s a great monitor and from my personal experience it serves as a big upgrade in visual fidelity over a TN panel. Read more

Great product at affordable prices.

Nick/TiffDecember 17, 2025

Bought two of these and they are wonderful. I am bed bound and needed upgrades from a TV I was forced to game on for years that was old. Husband got these mounted one to the wall and other setup on a stand they both work wonderful. I can see everything nicely now in great resolution. You can adjust settings easy. Total package here for an affordable price. Setup was maybe 5 mins to install stand. Read more

Sometimes things are inexplicably good.

Kindle CustomerNovember 15, 2025

A friend of mine suggested I check out AOC monitors when I was looking to upgrade from small, old 1080p relics. These monitors are HUGE. They are SLEEK. They are BRIGHT (but my eyes have not melted, there's settings on here). I have no issues gaming or reading documents. No dead pixels, no beefy price point. Just quality. I scratch my head at the price tag on "premium" monitors when this company has obviously got a fantastic product at a fair price already. Save yourself a headache and try AOC! Read more

Good monitor

AlexanderDecember 26, 2025

I would recommend this to someone who is just getting into pc gaming, especially if you have a mid to low tier pc. It’s right at the peak of monitors in its price range for quality and refresh rate. Just make sure when you hook it up and turn your pc on, you goto visual or monitor settings and increase the refresh rate to the max, (you might also need to do it in the bios screen but I can’t remember for sure) this allows you to really utilize the monitor to its fullest. The max is the full 180 and this allows for you to see 180 frame per second. Before I changed it I loaded up helldivers and was only getting 80fps when I changed it to 180 I was getting 120 Read more

Great Value Gaming Monitor with Smooth Performance

Me7oneJune 1, 2025

I've been using the AOC 24G15N for a good while now, and it's been a great addition to my gaming setup. The 180Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time make for incredibly smooth gameplay, especially noticeable in fast-paced shooters. The Adaptive-Sync feature effectively eliminates screen tearing, providing a seamless experience. The VA panel offers deep blacks and vibrant colors, and while the HDR10 support isn't on par with higher-end monitors, it still enhances the visual quality in compatible games. The monitor's design is sleek with its 3-sided frameless bezel, making it aesthetically pleasing on my desk. On the downside, the stand only offers tilt adjustment, lacking height and swivel options, which might be a limitation for some users. Additionally, the out-of-the-box color settings required some tweaking to achieve optimal visuals. Overall, for the price point, the AOC 24G15N delivers excellent performance and value. It's a solid choice for gamers looking for high refresh rates without breaking the bank. Read more

After using for almost quite a full year, and forgot to write a review many months ago...

KennyOctober 1, 2025

The monitor is pretty good, but one has to remember it's a VA panel. There is some blacklight bleed as all VAs have, I've not had issue, as it varies panel to panel in production of such. This is the second AOC monitor I've owned in like... 25 years. This monitor is better than my old VA panel Viotech generic brand one which had got in 2018 and went to the digital grave when attempting to use G-Sync or something late 2024. It was also 27" sized screen like this one, but not as "strong" as the 1500R curve as this. This AOC monitor can do HDR if you want, but oh man that hurts my eyes sitting about an arm length away, so I don't. G-Sync/VRR also works on this, but remember this isn't an OLED/QD-LED so high frame rates and ghosting will happen, this is more for cinematic gaming/and browsing web/etc. Color is good, but not OLED/QD-OLED level. Documentation was kind of light, and they do expect you to download the monitor app for more in depth use and firmware updates. Read more

This has been a great purchase. My son loves the curve of the monitor. The curve makes it feel like it saves space. He likes how the monitor adjusts. He swears it has helped his gaming performance. Overall, I would purchase another one if the day comes. Read more
