It seems adequate for my needs. It fits into one of the cupholders that you wish you could leave empty but the vent clip type etc. do not work very well. I like that this can be lower or higher if you want. Some of the other ones looked like they were all higher and that could interfere with some of the buttons in my car that control my seat heat etc. It seems pretty sturdy but I can pull it right out without pushing the button in the back so as far as gripping it it's not super strong but I have not had my phone fall out. I received the phone holder and installed it in my Tacoma. It was a tad too big for the single cup holder, but fit perfectly in the forward cup holders in front of the gear shift. The media could not be loaded. This is a great cupholder. It’s very sturdy, well-made and adjustable. There are cool little rubber grips that hold the side of your phone firmly, and this does unit not move around at all in the car. This is exactly what I was looking for! 9 out of 10 times these purchases are junk - to my amazement incredibly nice packaging - the cup holder phone mount seems solid although it’s only the first day I think it will be a keeper. I’ve purchased ones before ten times the cost not as solid. For $20 this looks like a home run. What’s nice is the ball mount for cradle along with the base fitting nicely into my Tundra Cup Holder.
