The factory filters for my 14 year old Samsung refrigerator were becoming hard to get and expensive. After reading several product descriptions and reviews, I settled on the AQUA CREST DA29-00003G Refrigerator Water Filter, Replacement for Samsung DA29-00003G. Unlike a previous “Samsung factory” filter that I had to modify to fit, these filters were an exact match to the original filters. The installation was a breeze. Spun right on and no leaks. Ran several pitchers of water through the filter to prepare it for drinking. Everything was fine until my wife had her first glass and declared the water had a distinct plastic taste. Now, she has a hyper sensitive and finicky palate, so I thought maybe she was reacting to the filter not being a Samsung. I took a drink and sure enough, it had a plastic flavor. I thought maybe it would wear off as the filter aged but it’s been 6 months and the taste is still there. I give it 5 stars for fit and installation but a 1 for the taste. Follow up 12/20/25: Shortly after posting this review, I was contacted by a representative from Aqua Crest and presented with several resolutions to my concerns. I chose a refund of the product and I received that refund promptly. Shortly afterwards, I was contacted again by the same representative. I was asked if I would agree to receive a free replacement of the product. I had already received a refund and now I was offered a replacement for free. I agreed and received the product within several days. I have to say, after careful preparation of the filter, I was extremely happy with the taste of the water. My wife was also 100% satisfied with the taste. Success! Hats off to Aqua Crest and Customer Service Rep., Krystal. You provided a prompt, courteous and helpful resolution, with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. I would recommend this product and this company to my friends and family. All of my future water filter purchases will be made with Aqua Crest. Read more
