Picture shows how much two uncooked cups of rice makes with 3 cups of water. Big enough for me. Works well. I like that it's stainless steel, replaced a non-stick one with toxic chemicals. Sticks a bit to the bottom a bit as expected but so did my non-stick one. Read more

I use the rice cooker for cooking white rice for 2 people. This $30 item is quite adequate for us. While we feel more comfortable using stainless steel rather than nonstick surfaces, it does stick a little. We would soak the bottom layer with some water or soup for an hour and we can finish it off later, nothing wasted. Read more
Really 3.5 stars. It’s a solid little rice cooker. I never had a rice cooker and wanted that lovely, chewy, every-grain-separated kind of rice restaurants have. Like most people I won’t choose products with non-stick anymore. So this inexpensive, somewhat small rice cooker is my gateway rice cooker. I now know that stainless steel inserts are totally fine, easy to clean — as someone else suggested just let it sit on warm for a few minutes after the ending beep and the rice will steam itself off the bottom of the pot. If it ends up dying, I won’t hesitate to look into a higher end stainless steel insert machine. OH and yes, the rice is perfect, or nearly perfect every single time. I use it for quinoa too.
