With my firstborn I was terrified of something like this. We have baby in a pack n play in our room in the early months. Regular pack n play pads are so hard. For our second, I gave this is a try and I am SO glad I did. This is the cushioning you would want your baby to sleep on. It’s firm enough where your baby isn’t going to sink or suffocate. I put a sheet over this mattress AND the pad so it’s like one unit, then I don’t worry about shifting in the middle of the night. Honestly this is the perfect width where it’s flush against the side of the bed that you don’t have to worry about gaps. It seems very safe to me. We’ve used this Waterproof Pack and Play Mattress Topper every day since it arrived, and I can honestly say it has completely improved my baby’s sleep in his playpen. The stock mattress that came with the playard was so thin and uncomfortable, but this topper made it feel cozy and plush without being too soft. The foam is the perfect balance, soft enough to be comfortable, but still firm enough to be safe for babies. My son now sleeps through the night when we travel or use the pack and play for naps. My 16 month old seemed extremely uncomfortable in his pack and play on a recent vacation, once we returned I browsed Amazon to see if there were any mattress toppers that would make for a more comfortable sleep and this was the first product to pop up. This is the perfect travel mattress for a Greco pack and play. The folding aspect is super convenient and the quality is great. We have a greco pack and play we use as our 9 month old's bed when we travel to visit family, but the insert it comes with has no padding and if very uncomfortable for sleep.
