We bought this scale literally SIX years ago and we have used and abused this thing just about every single day since. The PROS: 1) This things accuracy is still amazing, literally to the gram every single time 2) We have NEVER had to manually calibrate this scale (could just be luck but I do verify it’s accuracy every year with a 100g weight to make sure and it’s never been off) 3) Functionally, absolutely no issues (backlight still works perfectly, display is still perfectly lit and numbers are clear) 4) It is REALLY easy to clean with just a quick sponge 5) It does have an optional power connector but it is definitely unnecessary. In SIX years I think we’ve replaced the batteries once(?) maybe 6) Aesthetically, if you don’t mind a scale being on the counter - I’ve always thought that it has a clean-looking design that fits right in with your other kitchen appliances The CONS: 1) There was a clear plastic shield over the controls when we bought it but the plastic hinge broke off from regular use a few years ago (however, tbh, it was always kind of a pain anyway and is better off without it) 2) The decal for the ‘zero out’/‘Tate’ button wore completely out about a year ago (but again, still, that was AFTER 5 straight years of regular use so) For the like $30 I think we paid for this thing SIX years ago I think I might just pick up another one today just to have a spare or to just get a new faceplate lol Awesome product and seems like it’s still at a great price for the value and quality that you’re actually getting. I needed a new kitchen scale and after doing much research, I settled on this one. It is easy to use, and you have a choice for power of either batteries or plugging it in. The stainless steel top makes it easy to keep clean. The way it is designed makes it possible to see the read out when there were large items on the scale. I also like the fact there is a cover over the read out and the controls to keep them from getting dirty. I would highly recommend the scale to anyone looking for a kitchen scale. Read more

I required a scale for my business, and frankly, this one is fantastic to start me out. It's made well for its price point, but the materials are fairly light with a lot of plastic, so I question its long-term durability. The shield over the buttons and display is fantastic and it's already saved it from getting random goop splashed on those parts. I especially love that the buttons are real buttons, with real presses and tactile feedback. Touchscreen is dreadful when you're wearing gloves. I haven't calibrated it yet, so I'm not sure of its accuracy out of the box, but the fact that it is the kind of scale you can calibrate bodes extremely well. The size might be a bit much for some people but it doesn't have that big of a profile, and it's light and easy to move around. The scale part is removable so it's easy to clean. Honestly, I am genuinely satisfied with this purchase. I'm just starting out, so I need something not too expensive but accurate, and this hits it out of the park. Read more

love the new scale overall. it was already calibrated correctly out of package so did not really need the weights i bought to go with it! don't think weights are really needed with most scales today, even my previous two years food scale i replaced with this was still accurate when i used the weights on it that i bought for this scale.. i do foresee maybe having to replace this scale in a year, it has the same plasticky display button/cover type that my old scale has and the buttons start to not register being touched after constant daily use. hopefully this won't be the case with this scale but, if it is, i will gladly rebuy it again for everything else about it i like. the size is on the larger size but, that makes it perfect for large bowls/plates since you can still see the display while they are on it! my only minor gripes; - although scale looks heavy duty, it actually on the lightweight side and feets are not rubberized enough so scale slides easily (nothing a small piece of tape on each feet can't fix if you have a set area for scale). - blue light results in display fogginess and you cannot see numbers/info. unless you are right smack in front of it, move slightly backwards and numbers disapear into whiteness fog...however, if you are tall like my hubby and looking down at scale from above, you do not see much fogginess, i guess my scale blue lighted display does not like 5'4 and under people or something! Eitherway, display info is easily seen without the blue light being on, so its no big deal. -Scale is not cheaply priced so it really should automatically come with a power cord IMO. (the "5V My Weigh KD8000 Scale replacement power supply adaptor" i bought here works with it just fine btw) update: almost 3yrs later and this thing is still working like day one, best kitchen scale ever. I bought this scale November, 2017. It replaced my Finesseur kitchen scale that shut off too quickly. This scale is so much superior that it doesn’t even compare! It weighs heavier amounts than many kitchen scales and yet is accurate for yeast measurements of 6 grams. For 8 years, I’ve used this scale many times a week. (I cook by weight for most recipes.) From my experience, this scale is more durable than the slim kitchen ones. Read more
