They're cotton swabs... but made of bamboo instead of plastic. What more is there to say, really? They are advertised as compostable - and technically they are - just read up on your local municipality. Mine doesn't want any bodily waste, so I have to cut the swabs off and throw those away, and only compost the stick. No big deal. I'll suffer the small inconvenience if it means my waste isn't breaking down into microplastics. They do in my opinion feel better than plastic swabs. They also come in recyclable paper packaging instead of a PVC blister pack. It's a minor thing but it really does feel better to not stick plastic in your ear. You really want that stuff in your body? No? Get these then. Read more
I was looking for bamboo version of Q-Tip brand, my go-to. I bought many different varieties of them. The stick is about same as most of the others I tested. Narrower than Q-tip brand and have similar amount of cotton as Q-Tip brand. Stick has flex but ok sturdiness; others were not as sturdy. They were a bit more $$$ than Q-Tip brand. All in all, very good Q-Tip. 4.5 out of 5. Read more
I use swabs with rubbing alcohol to clean my ears every day. Q-Tips and Generic ones such as Kroger (worst) have proved unsatisfactory due to lack of wet strength of the sticks where they become limp and lose their effectiveness. That's why I bought these Bamboo ones, which have turned out to be better for my purpose. There is no weakening of the sticks when wet. The only downside is that the cotton tips are less full and soft and absorbent than the others, but they seem to be wound tighter so they don't fray as easily, which is good for other cleaning tasks. Addendum: after using less than half of the package, a few of the stems have fractured due to only moderate stress, so they aren't perfect. Read more

Absolutely love these swabs and have them on subscription. They work great for all your health and skin care needs, along with anything else you need them for. Bonus is they are bamboo - so better for breakdown in the environment - no plastic. Read more
I love bamboo, like my bamboo sheets they're great I love those but these are little breakable and they don't have enough cotton on the end if that's what they're using It's not as bad as few tips from the 99 cent store but they're not really the most comfortable to use I would pass on getting them Read more
I really like these, and hope they continue to be made forever. The swabs themselves are rigid and strong compared to normal swabs. You can press pretty hard before they risk breaking, which is very useful for cleaning small crevices in electronics/tools. The packaging is just cardboard, and the tips slide out nicely in a separate box. Not having plastic, tape, or preventative adhesives, and being able to just open and close the box again when I need to refill is great for waste. It has an option to tear through perforations, but you don't have to use it at all if you don't want to. Read more
