The game is an ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE! After months and months of searching, when I found this game I was beyond happy!!! This game is in my list of favorites next to God of War, Hellblade, Tomb Raider, Plague Tale, Star Wars, TLOU and Uncharted. Banishers is the only game that stood up to my high expectations (appart from the others above), matching all my desires: close 3rd person, RPG, action, adventure, MISTERY, STORY DRIVEN, amazing landscapes (every now and then I would just walk around the woods refusing to progres further in the story cuz I didnt want the game to finish), beautiful background music that would give me goosebumps, high quality landscapes, and those real life colors in the game that makes it look like a movie in which you are the main actor (I am not a fan of those childish unrealistic colors, sorry, I am a big fan of realistic close to reality colors that makes me truly live the story and feel it on my own skin); plus the multiple choice story option makes it even better! I felt a bit angry cuz it did not get the attention it deserves, I have never seen an add or recommendation on youtube for this game, I just searched and searched until I found this masterpiece Read more

Great story, fantastic graphics, and fun metroidvania feel. Plays like the latest God of War, but that's a good thing. There were just a few wonky camera spots, and some things weren't exactly explained (man I miss instruction books), but overall it's a great game. Play BOTH good choices and bad, nice contrast in the stories and worth the second playthrough. Read more

This game fell off everyone's radar either due to poor marketing or the nondescript name "Banishers." But let me tell you--it's really good. I feel it gets improperly compared to God of War due to the combat, when in reality it's much closer to a Bioware game mixed with Don't Nod's previous offerings like Life is Strange, Vampyr, Tell Me Why, Twin Mirror, etc. That is to say there is a lot of dialogue and choices combined with good storytelling and gameplay. Long story short, this isn't a God of War clone like some argue. It's much closer to Greedfall or a Bioware game than it is to that. If you played Vampyr a lot of those systems make a return here, but with much more elegance and streamlining. Some aspects remind me of other games like The Council too, though that game has far less gameplay and much clunkier movement. All in all I would say this is one of the best RPGs of 2024, and if you don't play it as an RPG fan you are missing out. The Good: - Dialogue choices - Story - Atmosphere - Feels like a Bioware game The Bad: - Lack of a jump button Read more

Really good action RPG. Story is great, characters are interesting. As for gameplay, it's decent - a "crevice crawler", so to speak. A lot of exploration. Combat is definitely similar to God of War, and the gameplay, honestly, reminded me of the Starwars: Jedi games. I really liked the setting of this game - 1600s New England. Gave it a super cool feel. Some things could have been better, certain game features didn't really make much sense, things can get pretty repetitive, and there was a lack of enemy variety, but I enjoyed the game as a whole. A few really cool boss battles as well. I think this game would adapt pretty well to the screen if they ever decided to make a movie. Also, the voice acting was fantastic. Giving it 4 out of 5 stars. The developers of this game also developed Vampyr and they do one thing extremely well and that is story telling and immersion. From the start this game pulls you in to its world and characters with exceptional voice acting and detail. It's dark and will remind you of movies like Sleepy Hollow or From Hell. Visuals are very crisp and detailed and very immersive because of the dark atmosphere and creepy town you explore. Read more

This game was interesting. I wasn't sure I had high hopes for it, but it was a lot of fun. I had some issues with the moral choices. Won't spoil anything, but bad people deserve what they get. ;) Sorry was very good, graphics were enjoyable and fighting could be interesting. As with all games the fighting does get a bit repetitive, but it was challenging. You are not overpowered like in some games. Would certainly recommend. Read more

Another great game by Dont Knod. They jsut know how to make good games that have deeper moral implications. Combat is good, graphics are good, but it is the story that shines. It is basically colonial era Ghostbusters, but it works. Read more
