I got this bathingsuit in neon green and the color is so bright and fun! It's exactly what I wanted. As for using this swimsuit on your period- I would never use this as my only method of protection or prevention, but I think this swimsuit would adequately work as a failsafe or backup if your primary method of choice failed and you had some possible leaking.
