I removed about 90% of the stuffing to get a pretty darn flat pillow with sufficient cervical support for my neck. I don't need 8" of support; I don't want to crank my neck in any sleeping position. Inside the texturized case is another case, also washable, with a zipper that holds the stuffing. The stuffing is a mixture of memory foam chunks and some SUPER soft filler-like fuzz. The combination makes for a pillow that can hug you no matter how you sleep. If you are a back sleeper, you can move the stuffing around to be the ideal support for your neck while your head can be truly in alignment with your rib cage and hips. The sides of the pillow can then be squished to hold your head snug from rolling to either side and provide wonderful sound deadening to lawnmowers, children, traffic, TV, etc. I can put in my noise-canceling earbuds with the pillow squished next to each ear, and I'm transported into a power nap. Side sleeping is also great. You can mold your Zoey pillow around your contours to support your neck, jaw, and shoulder, and, depending on the level of stuffing, you can maintain a straight alignment of your spine. Stomach sleepers benefit too because sometimes you need to sleep like you are falling off a cliff or you're frozen in climbing up-reaching-for-the-perfect-peach-on-the-tree position. This is the pillow for you because the pillow will wrap you anywhere you need support. The small memory foam chunks will clump together and stay, under your neck, around your shoulder, and maybe down your ribcage if you angle the pillow. You can arrange different levels of stuffing for different purposes. Maybe a standard pillow for your head and a king-size for a body pillow with a different level of stuffing. These pillows are truly customizable. They look almost like normal pillows and will fit in regular pillowcases, but I have to say I am sold on the satin pillowcase for my easy-to-frizz hair. Finally, everything is washable! So these pillows are easy to keep clean. The outer case is washable, and the internal case holding the stuffing is also washable. I'd bet the inner stuffing is also washable and could be hand-washed inside the inner case. Being washable is a life-saver for keeping allergens out. Washing kills dust mites and removes dander, dead skin, oils, and all of that. Edit 7/12/23 I will add that their customer service is pretty darn good, too -- you can get to a real person and they follow-up. Read more
This pillow does live up to the hype, it’s cradles the neck and gives a cooling affect. It’s a bit thick so it might take an adjustment period but overall good quality! My one gripe is it didn’t come with any sort of pillow case for the odd shape. Maybe that’s too nitpickey though. Would give 4.5 but Amazon doesn’t do that. Read more
Recently purchased the Zoey Sleep pillow to help relieve neck tension, shoulder soreness and to aid in improving my overall quality of sleep. I had never heard of this pillow but found it by searching Amazon, reading about the product and comparing it to comparable pillows. Can't even say why I ultimately selected this pillow, especially considering there were lesser priced pillows available, other than to say I liked the shape, liked what I read and liked the packaging presentation. I hoped this pillow would minimize the stiff shoulder or neck that I continually had when I awoke each morning. I am primarily a side sleeper and secondly a stomach sleeper. Upon opening the Zoey Sleep pillow, I noticed the firmness yet softness (if that makes sense). The pillow did not have an odor out of the box so I didn't find it necessary to air it out and put it to use that night. It felt good while I was propped up reading in bed but how would I sleep? I can honestly say I experienced a much improved night's sleep and immediately noticed that I felt more rested and did not have a stiff or sore shoulder / neck when I awoke the next morning. It didn't just minimize the stiffness or soreness, it alleviated it. Ok, so one good night's sleep. Well, I've been using the pillow for a little over a week and have had the same positive results each night. I am immensely pleased and I am confident this pillow will continue to support a good night's sleep. I have no other connection to Zoey Sleep other than I am one happy customer. Well done, Zoey Sleep, well done! Read more
I’ve had my pillow since mid-January and it’s now mid-September. Overall, once you get the fill level right, it becomes very comfortable and stays that way for several months. However, I noticed about a month or two ago that the fill started changing and has been slowly degrading or losing its stability. I fluff my pillow every night before bed, but shortly into the night it deflates and my neck enters into a state of poor posture. I’ve tried adding more fill to compensate for what has been lost, but it just makes the pillow denser or harder. The best way I can describe it is the memory foam sort of loses its cushion-like or airy nature. It’s still soft, but the same support throughout the night isn’t there. I rated it down because I expected a full year out of the pillow, but after 9 months, I’m nearing the point of looking for another replacement. Read more
I think I finally found a pillow that helps my upper back, neck and shoulder pain. I was using one of those expensive Buck wheat pillows because that's the only other thing I have found to work, but it is really firm and uncomfortable and heavy. So firm that when you lie on it for a lot of nights in a row as a side sleeper it really starts to hurt your ears because it is so hard. But it did finally fix my sore neck and shoulder pain. I had tried many other pillows and they work for a week or so and then that same discomfort starts to come back. But this one seems to be the perfect balance between firm and comfortable. It is only been one night so far but that was great rest and I actually had built up some pain which usually takes time to work out, but woke up feeling great. I know from years of searching that there are dozens of options out there that all claim the same thing, but for me this worked. Also, we have a king bed but I went with the queen sized pillow because it was in stock and honestly I think I'm keeping the queen size. Read more
