This bed rail is strong. sturdy and handy to have access to. I was concerned the 12" length was too short, but its not when pushed all the way up by the pillows. It's easy to get around. The length that goes between the mattresses is long enough for a strong secure hold. It was very easy to put together. I also like the rubber handle that goes over the top and around the corners. This is a good product and it does what is needed with easy assembly. The only complaints I have are these: the way the pouch connects often comes loose on the top of each side. The pouch remains intact due to the lower connection but velcro would have been a better way to attach at the top. This is not a deal maker and I plan to buy another. The other concern is that the security belt when attached and tightened as instructed, broke at the buckle part as soon as the adjustable bed was raised. It still works because it holds quite well without the security belt for our needs. Nevertheless I believe a stronger buckle might be in order since this buckle is plastic. You have to really pull tight to secure the rail to the bed frame. I have it on an adjustable bed. It seems secure and would give my elderly mother support getting up from the bed. Unfortunately she won't use it much. I found a video that was helpful on how to assemble and install. Glad I did because the instructions are not very good. Read more

If you roll or thrash around in your sleep this rail prevents falls out of bed. My rail when I rolled into it both woke me up and prevented my falling out of bed. Read more
