I love the leather, I love the style, and I love the size. I will be using this bag for years to come and I'm thrilled with it. I have a few nitpicks, but nothing that would have prevented me from getting this bag. 1. The zippers are hard to pull at first. They're wonderful quality metal, but I had to add some light oil and use them many times to get them smooth. It's particularly bad on the small additional pouches, the main zip and the large pocket zip on the purse work well. 2. The pen pouch is absolutely flat, and the zipper has been shortened on it presumedly to save money. there's a good inch on either side of the zipper that's just wasted. I had to put a lot of balm on the pen case and stuff it with newspaper to loosen it up enough for the zipper to work, since the pull from the straight sides made it difficult to use. Once I really crumpled it a few times and had it broken in, things worked better. But those roughly two inches made it too short of an opening for me to put in my 6x9 budgeting envelopes. But for pens and receipts, it's great. 3. Kind of the same for the round pouch, but it had a good sized zipper. I had to put balm on it and really work with it and put oil on the zipper to get it working smoothly. Good for change or medications. 4. The bag is shipped folded, so it has a permanent fold mark on one of the sides near the bottom, like a paper bag would have. I put balm on it and worked on it, and it's not very noticeable now. I wish it would have been packaged differently to prevent this. Still, if you weren't really looking you wouldn't see it. These are nitpicky critiques. Let me state again that I love the bag and will use it for years. Putting a backing on the leather straps is wonderful, they don't feel as sharp and fragile as regular leather straps can and they won't stretch too much. The phone pocket is big enough for my iPhone 15 pro or my Jlab earbuds charging case. The pen loops hold pens. All in all, a great bag. Read more

Love the quality, style and a feeling you’ll own this bag for a lifetime because of the quality and it’s sturdiness for whatever ware and tare you’ll put it through! I’m a self-professing ‘bag lady’ who loves a good quality, well crafted, functional, affordable bag. This combination of qualities is often hard to find in one bag ~ but, Glory be!, I found it in my recently purchased Berliner bag. I LOVE THIS BAG and it has become my #1 choice for everything. I use it when I’m just going around town and when I’m traveling. I love the sewn in strap with a clasp for my keys (or whatever I want to attach and easily find), I love the magneted side pocket that provides ample storage while still retaining it’s flat profile, the inside zippered pocket helps to separate and organize my essentials, and the phone pocket is perfect for holding my phone for easy access. The bag is roomy without feeling bulky, the shoulder straps are very comfortable and stay on my shoulder without sliding off and the leather is quality and attractive. I have not carried a traditional pocketbook in several decades. Teaching, I always used a backpack crammed with professional and personal needs. After I retired, I wanted a nice bag dedicated to the essentials, but roomy enough to add a laptop or a change of clothes or whatever the day requires. I researched for several months and I am so glad I chose Berliner. The leather is a gorgeous chestnut brown, as pictured. It is soft, but sturdy enough to stand up. The leather smells so rich and expensive, but the price is affordable. It has outside pockets with magnetic closures. Inside it has a zipper pocket as well as a smartphone pocket, two pen holders and several attachments. There is ample room for a purse organizer if I decide I need more compartments. It is a great size, not too bulky and the shoulder straps make it feel comfortable. I am so pleased with this product that I will probably purchase this brand again in the future. Read more

It is difficult to find things that are made to last anymore. This is a very well made, high quality bag. It is versatile and has a classic look that will never go out of style. I would rather buy something well made once than a bunch of cheap plastic things that fall apart instantly. The leather and stitching are high quality. This is the kind of leather that will soften and develop a patina over time. I wanted a bag that I could use to hold a laptop and for travel. This holds my laptop but is small enough to carry easily. I really like the extras - the little pouches, and especially the inside hook that you can attach to the wallet, for security. Overall, 100% recommend. Read more
