I love this bag. I have been using it for four months every single day so far. I was looking for a vintage-inspired, good quality, affordable leather back. This bag checks all the boxes. Materials: Leather, good quality, very lovely tan color leather. The interior has separations with padded fabric with the rims lined with leather (see pictures). The shoulder strap is excellent, leather with a fabric lining. The buckles, rivets, and clips are all metallic and strong. You can use the buckles or the clasps to close it. I prefer the clasps. Space: I bought the York M. I wanted a medium size that could hold journals, notebooks, wallet, iPad, pencil case, and books. It delivers. I can fit everything I need to carry around for work. It is very roomy and it is not heavy. It has two inside pockets with zippers, as well as pockets for your phone, a clip, and pen straps. No pockets outside, which I prefer. If you like that, Berliner has models with pockets outside. The Look: If you want a vintage look, this bag is the best choice. The color is really nice, and the leather has been worked and detailed in a very high-quality way. If you check their website you will learn about their tanning process that gives the leather such a unique appearance with plant-based products such as oak that also increases the durability of your bag. I have had this bag for several months now and use it regularly for work. This size is perfect for me - I was initially worried it was too small to fit my laptop, it was a snug fit - but within a couple times of use, the leather started to soften and it fits perfectly. I usually pack it with a laptop, notebook and planner. And of course some miscellaneous items like pens work phone etc. I do sometimes overstuff it - but when I do there is no issue with durability. I am extremely impressed with Berliner bags - I have purchased a total of four bags from them because of the look and the quality. One thing I realize I am missing is an outside pocket on this bag. I find myself needing to put my cell phone or keys somewhere when I am getting out of the car... and I don't want to unbuckle the flap. Again, quality, look, style, feel - all excellent. I had no issues with smell. Yes there is a distinctive smell - but that dissappears quickly and with use. Read more

Just received the bag, excellent leather, excellent design, excellent texture both inside and out, excellent strap. The bag is great and more than worth its price. I only have two issues with it, first the name tag on the inside restricts the curve of the flap as it closes. Secondly my 13 HP laptop could only fit in the middle, not sure if that is the right place because the bottom has no cushioning. Read more

Fantastic bag, exceeds expectations. Looks amazing, smells wonderful, quality seems legit. Will update in a few months for durability but that is also promising as I cut out the laptop sleeve so I could put in my 14” MacBook and the stitching put up a fight! Bought this bag to fit a Chromebook and other small volumes. Fits enough pens and study journals to be extraordinarily useful, as well as a pocket for my phone. It has a very distinct scent, but not overpowering or unpleasant. It’s definitely leather. Latches secure nicely and have a nice look. All in all, it’s a good purchase. The only criticism is that I wish there were a handle added to the top in case you do t want to grab it by the shoulder strap. Read more

Handsomely handcrafted slim leather briefcase, perfect as a cross-body business pack. A regular iPad fits perfectly in the provided space, with room for several (not-too-thick) folders, just right for that business presentation. I like that it does away with those flimsy carabiner attachments for the shoulder strap and uses instead a sturdy woven canvas strap with leather reinforcement/accent. And the aroma of genuine leather when you open the flap, in fact, just setting it beside you, that classy fragrance just draws attention! This feels like a quality, sturdy bag that'll last a while for my husband. It's a christmas present so I'll update it once he sees this and can give his opinion. Love that this bag was very similar to the Alan Wake bag but also had a nice sturdy strap unlike the more game-accurate looking one running around on amazon. Also has a pleasant, new leather smell and a soft interior lining. Read more
