LOVE these steps! We have 2 dogs. Our girl is a Jack Russel mix who can easily jump up on anything in our house even though she's the smallest of our 2. The other, Danny, is a chihuahua/beagle mix. He has the head and legs of a chihuahua, and the body of a beagle! This makes it very difficult for him to jump up on the bed to relax or sleep with us. Before buying these steps, it would take him 4 or 5 attempts to get up, and then he was out of breath. We were also worried he was going to hurt his back. Now, he walks right up there with us and is much happier! The steps are light enough to move around easily and just the right height for our mattress. They are also sturdy enough that I can sit on the top step if need be. Admittedly, it distorts quite a bit (I am over 220 lbs), but not terribly. Now, the reason for 3 stars on sturdiness. As I mentioned, they are pretty light. Our bedroom isn't the biggest so, in order to save space when we're not in there and when we are asleep, I turn the steps sideways at the foot of the bed. Going down, there's no issue. If Danny runs up to the bed and they are turned sideways, however, they are easily flipped over. This has caused him to face-plant several times into the foot of the bed! Poor guy!!! I wish there was some sort of weight on the bottom to give it just a bit more stability. It's not detrimental, and definitely not a reason to avoid purchasing. Overall, I would definitely recommend these if you have an animal that has a difficult time getting up on the couch or bed. I have a 5 1/2 year old pug who is 27lbs. We have 3 twin beds in a small room. We recently replaced 2 of the beds and due to such my Pug has been unable to get on ANY of the 3 beds. I spent HOURS looking and measuring and reading reviews. Until I found this one. I'll admit, the price was off putting. Its alot of money for dog stairs. Finally I broke down and bought them because I couldn't stand the pleading looks my dog gave me to pick him up. HOLY COW!! The package came quickly! The stairs are light and easily fold into different shapes. They are sturdy enough to hold 27lbs of Pug!! It only took an empty hickory pill pocket (and a lot of praise) to coax him up the stairs and that was it. He was a big boy who could do it himself. No more lifting up 27lbs of Im-too-little-mama-pick-me-up in the middle of the night! The stairs are pricey but well made, solid, stable and the perfect height for the beds. It was money well spent. The absolute best steps for inside your house. They are very pretty, wide steps, angled properly to climb, easy to keep clean, no sliding and very durable. The plastic steps I had before one of my fur babies would never use them. They were not wide steps, it slipped a lot even after buying non slip items. It broke when being moved around after a few months. However I’m so glad we now have these wonderful pet steps! Both fur babies run up and down them without hesitance. Great product for our 2 yorkies but over use the bottom step started to cave in. To fix it I just cut some package cardboard down to size and inserted it inside the cover which does a decent temporary job. Read more
My 68lb senior husky/Malamute can get in and out of the car on her own now! She’s been struggling getting in and out of the car. We tried using a ramp, but it was unstuffy that she really didn’t like it. After the first 2 times, she refused to walk up the ramp, so I had to carry her into the car. Then she would slowly hop out of the car. I shopped a lot, but most steps are made for smaller dogs and can’t support bigger dogs, wouldn’t fit in the car, or weren’t tall enough to get her into my compact SUV. These steps address all those problems! It’s 16” wide, which is wide enough for her to walk on and get into the back seat. There’s still about a gap between the top step and the back seat, but she can step over the gap. The steps fold in half; they don’t fit behind the front seats, but they do fit nicely in the trunk once it’s unzipped. This has made outtings so much better for me and my doggo! Read more
I have small Pomeranians that are fragile. I needed a set of stairs that were easy on joints, (my little one has 2 bad knees) not slippery and fit our decor. My 5lb pom took to it immediately and after a week she feels more independent cause she can join us on the couch or bed when she wants too. My scaredy cat 9lb Pomeranian was a bit more hesitant using it but now loves it. The fabric is soft, foam structure is very sturdy and has a touch of memory foam like response that is easier on my little ones joints. It weights about what one of our decorative pillows weighs and is easy to move room to room weight size. It is a rather large size (we bought the large version) even if its folded down so be sure you are choosing it to be more a permanent use item than space saving. I bought this for my 10-year-old senior pup. She can't get onto our bed by herself, and at night she crawls under the bed when she jumps down at night to go to the bathroom because I can't hear or feel her scratching while im asleep. Needless to say, after one day she got used to the fact that she had stairs and she no longer crawls from under the cold hard floor in the morning. She's nice and tucked in the pillows. These stairs are so nice, I wish I could use them. Lol, they are a soft fabric with memory foam inside so it's soft on her feet. My bed is pretty high off the ground as well and it's tall enough to get her up. The only thing I can personally complain about is that I thought it folded so it can be used for smaller surfaces.
