I purchased these steps for my 3 elderly kitties who were having some trouble jumping on and off the couch & bed. They are wonderful! I wish I would have purchased them sooner. One of my old ladies has arthritis and her mobility has improved since I purchased these steps. The impact from jumping off the couch was causing pain & she would limp for a few minutes every time she jumped down. She loves the stairs & started using them as soon as I got them - and no more limping. She gets around much better now. My other sweet little kitty has diabetes & IBD. It is a bit challenging to control her bloodsugar because of the meds she has to take for IBD (she is seeing a vet specialist regularly & is well cared for). When her bloodsugar is on the high side her back legs get a bit weak & she has trouble jumping up on the couch & bed. She fell once trying to get up on the couch - luckily she didnt hurt herself, but I purchased these steps immediately after that so it wouldnt happen again. They have been great for her too. Both of my kitties easily run up and down the steps and act like much younger cats now. They love their stairs! I have had these for a little over 6 months now. The fabric is durable & still looks the same as the day I got it even with multiple cats running up & down them daily. The foam is soft so it is very comfortable for a cat (or dog) to walk on, but also nice and firm so it looks like they will hold up well for a long time. I even sat on these steps a few times & they have not lost their shape. I purchased the gray color and it looks great in my house (my couch is also gray). These steps are deep enough for an animal to walk on easily. I actually purchased another brand of pet steps at the same time as this one. The other brand was the same height, but had 4 steps. The steps on that other brand were so shallow the cats couldnt walk down it. I returned that one. The steps are deep enough on these stairs for pets to walk comfortably. These stairs are awesome! Perfect for my puppy to get on and off the bed. I think they are stylish and I like the heather gray. They are sturdy and hold their structure well but soft memory foam so I’m not afraid my puppy will get hurt if he trips on them or I stub them walking by. They fold up with ease and are super lightweight and convenient to move around. The zipper works well, a minor detail but I was surprised at how nice the zippers are. I like that the cloth is removable to clean if needed. My puppy loves using them and learned to use stairs with them in a safe manner. This ramp is a hit with all my dogs! It’s easy for my Pomeranians to climb, and even my Rhodesian uses it when he’s feeling too lazy to jump on the bed. I have 13-year old Pug, weighs roughly 22 lbs. He's getting arthritis in his back hips, and needed some assistance getting up on the couch and/or bed. These stairs really help him a lot, and they've lightweight - with no sharp edges - so it's very easy to move from the couch to the bedroom. There are many different zippers, making the cloth cover easy to remove, wash, and replace. The lack of sturdiness is why I could only give 4/5 stars. Being made of foam, it's not sturdy! And if my pug is not lined up with the middle of the stairs, it will just tip over. I think that's made him a bit more cautious as he doesn't care like it too much when it wobbles. Finally, these steps are mildly steep - not anything dangerous - my 10 lb. Maltese is also 13 and runs up and down them like a cheetah... However, if think of my little dog would develop arthritis in his back legs, I wouldn't be so sure he could traverse these steps. I'm also not too sure I would trust a Rottweiler - due to the wobble. I purchased these stairs a few months ago for my jumbo sized (35 lb) senior Frenchie who was starting to have some issues getting onto the furniture as he had been accustomed to his entire life. He wanted nothing to do with the stairs so we put them in a corner in case we would need them later and I'm very happy we didn't get rid of them. A few weeks ago our boy ended up getting a neck strain and was having some back pain. After 2 weeks of strict cage rest he was allowed to have some activity again but jumping on and off the furniture is no longer allowed (and quite frankly he doesn't have his ups anymore). Due to his discomfort he has finally accepted that he has to use the stairs. Despite the embarrassment of needing help, he would rather be on the furniture than on the floor. Pros: The foam is sturdier, not as squishy as a memory foam mattress so it gives him some stability. He did have a period where he had to learn to trust them. Because the foam is light we do not hurt our ankles if we bump into it. The steps are very easy to maneuver around our house as needed Cons: Because these steps are so light they can shift, especially on our hardwood floors. We have propped them up against our heavy ottoman to make them more stable. I don't think our dog would be willing to try these if they were free-standing without a "wall" next to them. Read more
