When you need something badly and you need it now, spending less than $20 kinda makes you twitch a little, right? "Yeah, I know...it's going to be a piece of crap, but I NEED something..." This product isn't that way at all. Cheap, sure. Actually, let's use "inexpensive" instead. Universal? Yeah, baby. I own a Ford F-150 and use it as a daily driver. After a great experience with the proactive and friendly Bestrix company (An e-mailed user's manual? Wow, thanks!), I put the mount together and stuck it in the CD slot. It wobbled a little so I put the supplied medium-sized rubber "shoe" over the insert and tried it again. Nice and tight. Perfect. The phone stayed in tightly, too, and the mount rotated for portrait or landscape viewing, so I was ready to test it. The next morning I clamped in my Galaxy S7 and off to work I went, Hi-ho, Hi-Ho. A mile or two down the road I started experiencing odd behavior from the radio: every time I hit a bump the station changed! "Whaaa?" At the next stop sign I gently bumped the phone mount and sure enough - the radio station changed. The rest of my drive was...eclectic. Oklahoma roads. Just sayin'. During work I remembered something from the beautiful, full-colored PDF'd user's manual I was sent - you can flip this mount over in the CD slot and use it that way, too. When I got home that night I tried it. Voila! No more radio issues. There must be a pressure-sensitive spot inside the CD slot (the R spot?) that when pressed, forces a station change. Huh. Flipping the mount over was the perfect solution. Last week I rented a new Toyota Corolla and tried the Bestrix mount in it, too. On Mississippi roads this time. I had one issue: The CD slot was thinner in the Toyota so I had to remove the rubber shoe to get the mount in. After that it slid right in and locked up tight, and there were no issues regarding placement or dashboard sensitivities. It just worked. It will for you, too. Yes, it will cover some part of your console because, well, your PHONE is in the way now. But you knew that would happen, right? Read more

Great product and great delivery time!! When it comes time to consider a phone mount for your car (apart from an option of using Bluetooth - which not all vehicles have and, if not, obtaining a headset, etc. opens up lots of costs and unpredictable performance. This is the one option (Bestrix CD mount) that I have had the absolute best experience with. Convenience and compliance with hands-free cellular phone use laws put me into this position of searching and trying. Choices are not too abundant: there's windshield mount (can interfere with driving visibility and they very often fall), there's dash mounts (can ruin your dash and also interfere with driving visibility), there's air vent mounts (heat and AC can ruin your phone and, from experience, they may crack your mount fins and pull them down into a perpetual downward-pointing direction, there's cupholder mounts (poor alternative, IMHO), and there's CD mounts. I've tried two other CD mount units with a lot of compromise - they rattled and would often slip out while driving. Then I tried Beatrix's CD mount......Success!!! It's well-made, strong, very, very easy-to-install (I did it in less than 30 seconds). Most importantly, IT HOLDS like a rock. Steady, no jittering, no shaking, no falling out. If someone's posterior could accommodate it, I swear that one could sit on the mount and it would provide a 3-in-front seating (smile). I could not be happier with this mount. It exceeded my expectations and wishes. Highly recommended by me. Mine carries my iPhone 6S with not a problem at all - I even inserted my wife's 6S Plus with no problem (mounting and/or holding it jiggle-free while driving). I experienced extremely quick delivery and a personal touch of e-mailed instructions - even before the delivery. I did not need the instructions: the installation is so intuitive. Thanks you Bestrix. Just grabbed an iphone X and an Otterbox case (Symmetry series). I had shelled out a bit of money for a magnetic qi charging car mount, but the magnet just wasn’t strong enough and the phone kept sliding off. I have never had luck with vent mounts- they’re either cheap/weak, or in the winter the heat output is directed at my phone and causes it to overheat. I decided to go with this cd car mount and wasn’t expecting much. Installation was a breeze and took literally thirty seconds. It came with instructions which helped. You are able to install it either “right side up” or “upside down”- upside down just means the phone sits below the cd player, whereas right side up means it sits higher. Upside down worked perfectly for me as it only obscures the car stereo dash buttons and I use my phone for all car audio anyway. Upside down installation also keeps my phone out of the way of the air vents! This thing seems very secure in the cd holder and I’m pleased with its ability to hold my phone. If you have a thick case/phone, it might not work for you- mine is not very thick, and seems like it’s just at the threshold of a good sized fit for this mount. I also really like the button release, so I don’t feel like I’m constantly messing or tugging on my phone or the mount. I only took one star off because it does seem semi durable but the plastic seems a little on the cheaper side, so I’m not sure if this is a long term quality product. But my initial impression is pretty great and I’m actually much more pleased with this than the other $60 magnetic mount I was using prior to this. Read more
