I use this fan in the bathroom (FAR away from water) to heat up the air for my baby. Works very well. Bath time used to be a hurried occasion to get baby in the warm water then out again and dressed to prevent crying. With this heater in the room, bath time can be more intentional and slower as the cold air doesn’t shock baby. Just make sure the fan is NOT near a slash zone of any kind. Nothing fancy, but if heat is what you want, this is good, at a good value. This is a no-frills simple heater where you manually control the settings and turn on and off. But the heat output is good for such a small and simple heater, much better than the more expensive heaters that I have. Black & Decker is a trusted brand for reliable products at fair prices, and this heater is no exception. Only reason I did not give this a full five stars is because my previous heater stopped working when the knob got stuck and I could not turn it on, so I had to replace it. But I liked the heat output so much for the price that I replaced it with another order of this same heater, because I trust it. Read more

This fan is amazing in my apartment. I have a bookcase that blocks a lot of the heat and air from getting to part of my space. So this heater/fan is perfect in that area. It has a safety feature so if it falls over it will shut off. It has a temperature setting. It doesn't show numbers, but it will allow it to run the heat and turn it's self on and off depending on how hot or cold it is. And summer i just use the fan setting. I don't know why I ever bought other heaters that are only heaters before. It makes so much sense to have something useful year round. Read more

I bought one years ago, the exact same model, and I am (or was) replacing it with this one, but it is far too quiet to function as a night fan to drown out noise. My old squeaky one is much louder and is the only reason why I bought another fan of this brand. I don't get why this one is ultra quiet, to the point you would think it is coming from your house, so quiet. Not only that, but I cannot in any way use the heater function. It overheats and safety shuts itself down after only 3 minutes or less of heating on the first heat setting, and takes 5 minutes or longer to turn back on, even if I turn it to the fan setting, so it really isn't a heater, more of a fan because I use the fan all night every night. I am very unhappy with this product. Don't buy this if you want a heater. I had another heater from a different brand that would auto shut off, but only after I used it every day for a month did it start to have problems overheating. This is fresh out of the box and overheats and takes too long to cool down that it might as well not be used to heat a room anymore since it can't keep up. Read more

Basic device that does the job. It does shut off when bottom is not on a solid surface, which is a good safety feature. Exterior casing never gets hot to touch (except actual fan blades area, and even then, just gets very warm). Important to consider: instructions say Do Not Use with extension cord. At first, I did. Connecting areas got very warm as well as where extension was plugged into outlet. After I ditched the extension cord and plugged unit directly into outlet, it really never got too warm, even after 24 hours continuous use. Good little unit. Read more

I love this fan. But they do not last. I am on my third one. There are not any other products on amazon I see with this blowing out of the heat like this one that is a small unit like this. I do rebuy them due to this. I wish they would not burn out as fast. I had one of these I used nearly every day and it lasted years of another brand. They stopped making them. This is the only close one. Usually black and decker stuff is great for the price and last decently well. This is the 4th one in 1.5 years I am using. I am very cold natured and like heat on my skin at home. So 20$ price point is worth rebuying but not if they cost more unless the durability goes up. Read more
