Makes me happy every time I use it. It's one of the best small appliances I ever bought. Would I buy this again? Absolutely! It's the right size--fits on the counter, makes enough for 2-3 generous servings, easy & compact to store. It's flexible--Brown rice, white rice, sushi rice, rice+quinoa mix, rice with veggies on top, veggie steamer, rice casseroles/pilafs/rissoto, oatmeal. !!!Follow the instructions!!! & results are consistently good. Easy & fast to clean--either in the sink or in the dishwasher. Time Saver--I don't have to hover over a pot & tweak the temperatures to get my rice to cook properly. Only 2 things I dislike (My personal preferences--YMMD) The steamer basket & rice paddle are plastic. I swapped them for a silicone spatula & bamboo steamer. Read more

I've been cooking rice on the stove top for 50 years plus. Although I'm pretty good at the old school method, this rice cooker makes the best rice ever. Easy to use, easy to serve, and a snap to clean. I'm never going back to stove top preparation again. Follow the included directions and you will have perfectly cooked, fluffy rice that won't be soggy or clumped together. I purchased the 3 cup size, as I rarely serve more than 4 people at a time. Perfect cooking capacity for my needs. I can serve 4 people and have a bit left over. No problem making a small batch for 1 or 2. The smaller size takes up minimal space to store. Quality built, and the lid holding design is awesome. I have not tried making soup in it yet, but the versatility is a nice touch. Read more

This is a cheap rice cooker that comes with a plastic measuring cup and simple plastic rice paddle (good for scooping out the cooked rice without scratching the non-stick coating.) There is a handy "lid hanger" feature, which is nice! You don't have to find someplace to set the lid down when you are filling the pot or scooping out rice. I don't like that the pot is "on" at least low whenever it is plugged in. You really don't want to set some rice cooking and then forget it and run off to play pickleball or something that will keep you away for hours. Your house probably won't burn down but the rice will develop a hard crust on the bottom where all the liquid will eventually cook away, even when the pot is on "low." I (and the included booklet) recommend setting a kitchen timer when the pot is on. This setup works fine, except the steamer basket can't be used while you're cooking rice. I put in one cup of dry rice and two cups of water and tried to fit the steamer basket in but the bottom of the plastic steamer basket was submerged in the water. This is a bummer. Not because I want to steam vegetables while I'm cooking rice, but because I like to use the steamer basket to prevent the little burps and dribbles of rice exhaust that otherwise gets all over wherever the little vent is pointed. All other electric rice cookers I've owned had a steamer basket that sat *above* the rice cooking bowl. This one nestles down *inside* the rice cooking bowl. I'd probably choose a different one just because of this. That said, it makes okay rice, the nonstick coating appears to be intact and so far is non-sticky. Read more

I bought this on Black Friday. It is a quality simple rice cooker/steamer. Standard "Cook / Heat" switch. Automatically switches to "Heat" when the cooking is done. The inner rice pan is ceramic lined so the rice doesn't stick as it can with steel or aluminum. It does a fine job of cooking rice (I recommend a little bit more water than in the recipe book). If you're cooking a smaller amount of rice you can put the steam tray in the top and add some meat or veggies and cook an entire meal at the same time. It comes with a "rice measuring cup" (smaller than a regular cup) and a rather nice, well-made plastic spoon. You can also use this to cook soups, stews, oatmeal or similar items. I'm pleased with the purchase. Read more

This thing has made my life easier. You can make small or large servings of rice. It cooks any size batch perfectly every time which is good for someone who ruins rice every time I cook it on the stove. The veggie steamer basket is a fun add on. One button operation means it's easy enough for anyone to use. Internal pot is removable and comes clean easily. Read more
