For my birthday I decided I wanted a new chef knife, so I started shopping and researching. I had decided to get myself a great, professional, German steel, and had chosen one at about 3x the price. Well, before buying I mentioned this to a friend who is currently attending cooking school and he suggested I check this one out. So I did. I ended up getting this full-tang, German steel knife and wow - I couldn't be happier. Blade is REMARKABLE at this price point - the thick steel holds an Edge like crazy, even after I've modified the angle to 17° (SHARP sharp). The balance is out of this world. I don't much care about the handle material but this Olive wood is gorgeous. The shape of the handle fits my medium size male hands perfectly and I feel like I have surgical control when cutting both meat and veggies. It feels like it will last forever in my hands.
