What a nice pan! It is a bit weighted and I love that, for cooking a good meal this is essential. The coating inside goes up almost to the rim, which is really important too so that nothing sticks to the sides. It works beautifully. I hope it is true that it is just ceramics etc. but no other coating. The diamond claim is no joke, the pan sparkles too (besides having a diamond pattern of course). Now I only wish they would make a larger size. It is ok sized but usually I cook larger amounts in one pan. Anyways - awesome pan. Read more
I like this pan. It does not cook fried eggs well without oil or grease but, It does everything else really well. Great heat distribution, No hot or cool spots. Very solid and easy to wash. Read more
This is a good frying pan. I have had no problems with the non-stick, unlike other frying pans I have used (that were more expensive). So it is easy to clean and so far there are no scratches. I consider it a good purchase. Read more

TL;DR - I recommend this 8-inch skillet as a gift for someone who enjoys cooking and cookware. Me: Home cook (2-3 meals per day), not a professional Tested: Stovetop only (I'm sure it works fine in the oven, but I have plenty of dedicated oven cookware so why risk it?) Successful cooks: Eggs (scrambled & omelet), bacon, pan-fried chicken, steak, flour tortillas, pancakes, caramelized onions Unsuccessful cooks: None The only thing I haven't tried yet is pan-fried salmon, but based on the performance of everything else...I have no worries. About this pan: It's absolutely gorgeous (subjective). It is lightweight and the handle has the perfect curve, length, and width. This skillet was clearly designed by someone who actually cooks. I have another one of their pans and the handle is good, but not like this one. The skillet is completely non-stick and has remained so for everything I've cooked in it. Cleanup is a breeze. It is a joy to cook with. Some things to get used to: 1.) It heats up slowly on medium (which is the highest temperature recommended). I have cast iron, carbon steel, and tri-ply stainless steel skillets (all 8-inch)....this one reminds me of the cast iron in terms of heat management. 2.) The bumps. They're the whole reason you'd buy this skillet, but it does feel odd as you encounter the resistance sliding a metal (yay!) utensil across them. Final thoughts: I'm a Gordon Ramsay fan. HexClad is the inspiration behind my decision to buy this skillet from Blue Diamond. I don't trust the materials that the HexClad is made of, and I don't like the price. I do trust the materials that Blue Diamond uses, and I like the price. Maybe time will prove me wrong, but for now, this skillet has earned a spot in my rotation. Read more
