First - I am definitely not getting paid nor given anything free for this review. I recently purchased a MacBook Air and generally like the touchpad - but still prefer to interact with a mouse. I was not motivated to buy an Apple branded mouse at crazy price. Reviews of this mouse were mixed. People complained of the mouse not being responsive, falling asleep - etc. I have not experienced anything negative with this product! It is sleek, fits my hand easily, was easy to connect (two options: Bluetooth or 2.4G). I love how the color matches my MacBook Air! I have no idea about what people mean by "noise level" - this thing is super-quiet! The right and left mouse buttons make no noise and only when you depress on the scroll wheel is a pleasant sound made. Yep, it is made of plastic - but I'd say it is durable enough for just about any user. Batteries last a long time (months?). I have not experienced any lag or lack of communication between this mouse and my MacBook. I'd be willing to bet folks just are not setting something correctly or perhaps placing their cell phones right next to the mouse and causing interference. This review is in regard to physical appearance and function. On the left is gold, on the right is silver. The computer is starlight. Neither color matches. The gold is warmer in color than the cool color silver. I opted for the silver mouse. I thought the gold was too warm in color. (I did return the gold mouse. I just did not like the color.) It is up to you what color you prefer. I thought this would be a helpful visual key for those individuals who prefer matching accessories. As for function and the feel of the mouse. Both are light weight. The wireless plug in to the computer offers a USB C on one side, USB A on the other. Charging cable is included with an adapter to switch USB A to USB C for the charging cable. This is so nice you can use USB A or C or both! Mouse offers Bluetooth capabilities. I used the wireless USB plug in to use the mouse. I have not tried the Bluetooth. I charged the mouse completely. I turn it off between uses. I have not charged it in a month. However, I use the mouse approximately 1 hour a day. I found that this functions like your typical mouse. Easy to use, I found it to be comfortable. It was accurate and it was easy to move with a mousepad. I have not tried it without a mousepad. The mouse itself is quiet. This is probably the best mouse I've found for my MacBook Air. It offers both Bluetooth and USB connectivity options, giving you flexibility based on your setup. So far so good, I have been using it for 2 weeks and it works fine. It is not as robust and heavy as the original, also, you don’t get the function to toggle between web pages in safari. I guess that’s ok since you are paying 18% of the cost of an apple mouse. Read more
