I am pleasantly surprised by the feel of this pillow, having tried so many of these shredded foam pillows. It is very plush and soft feeling, but definitely gives more support than a normal soft down alternative pillow for example. It doesn't feel like memory foam in the traditional sense. It does hold shape and bounce back, but it doesn't feel as firm once it conforms to your head and neck. I personally don't like that really firm feeling of traditional memory foam. It is adjustable so you can add or remove foam to get the loft just right. The cover is soft and plush as well. It has a cooling side, which in my experience is cool to the touch at first, but will warm up while in use. So not continuously cool, but better than no cooling at all I guess. Cooling isn't as important to me. Also this pillow comes with a pillow case (to use on top of the protective cover), which is very nice and not something that is usually included. I particularly appreciate the extra pillow case as I got the curved option, which does fit in a normal pillow case, but nice to have the curved shaped case. I am a side and back sleeper. I did not notice a strong odor upon unpacking, as you do with most of these pillows. However they all have some kind of odor when new so if you are sensitive to that you may still want to air out before use. For me once I washed the dual sided cover, and fluffed the pillow in the dryer for 10 mins, there was no noticeable foam odor. Pillows are obviously very subjective. It depends on personal preference. I would say if you're looking for a soft and supportive pillow that you sink into, this is for you. If you like a very firm, more traditional memory foam pillow, you may want to look elsewhere.
