The Boolavard derma roller is easy and painless to use. The needles on this roller are 0.2mm for use on your face or body. This short length is great for beginners and those with sensitive skin. It can improve skin texture and tone and help with product absorption when used with serums and creams. It can also help stimulate hair growth by creating micro-channels in the scalp and stimulating hair follicles. Make sure you sanitize the roller before and after each use. I prefer to spray it with rubbing alcohol and allow it to air dry. While it looks a little scary, it does not hurt and does not cause bleeding. I have used it on my scalp to encourage hair growth as well as on my face with serums to decrease fine lines and wrinkles. I use the roller on clean skin twice a week before bed. My skin feels refreshed and a bit tingly, but I don't feel any pain. It just takes a couple minutes. Doing too much can irritate your skin. This is a great tool for skin care and for encouraging hair growth. It can be used for a long time as long as you make sure to sanitize it and store it safely in the plastic case. I think it is a good value for the price (currently just under $7). Read more

This was my first time using a derma roller. The instructions are straightforward. Using the roller didn’t hurt. The roller feels similar to using a beard brush. I did notice some pinpoint bleeding when I started using the roller, but that subsided after a few uses. After using the roller, my skin was a little tingly and blushed. After a month of use besides noticing that my skin didn’t bleed, I feel that it has made the texture of my skin on my face feel more full. Read more

Boolavard Derma Roller Microneedle Roller For Face, Roller for Beard, Microneedling Roller | For Women and Men | Micro Needle Roller For Face Scalp (Black, 0.2mm) I have to be honest and say that I didn't end up actually using this item. I had ordered a few different microneedling devices to check out and compare. I had no prior experience or knowledge and was ready to get educated and experiment! I learned about proper usage and the possible advantages. I also learned that needle size is critical depending on your goals and the area of the body you're using it on. There are optimal sizes for specific needs. Personally my priority is to reduce the appearance of dark spots, and of fine lines as well as deep wrinkles, and to tighten up my skin overall. To accomplish this I need to use a needle size that is much longer than the needles on this particular roller. This roller has the shortest available needle size, 0.2mm, and as stated on the box, needle length below 0.5mm is not effective for wrinkles. I liked the idea of a roller because it seemed like it would be a quick and easy task to just roll it all over your face. The other devices I have are stamp devices and it seemed like this roller would be easier to use. What I hadn't realized when I ordered it was that the needles were a specific size, whereas the stamp devices I have are adjustable so they are much more versatile. I have also learned that roller devices may not work as effectively as stamp devices as the amount of pressure and penetration varies as it's rolled across the skin, whereas with a stamp the surface is flat and even. At some point I may end up trying a dermaroller, I just need to make sure I get a 1.0mm or 1.5mm size to suit my needs. The device itself seems to be well made, rolls easily, and comes with a plastic storage case to protect the device and keep it clean between uses. Basic instructions and information are printed on the box only, no insert. Read more

This microneedling tool has the smallest needle length offered by this brand. I'm not sure that it has a high level of efficacy, but it's good for someone who's never micro-needled at home and needs to get used to how it feels. It came in a sealed pouch which eliminates any concern of the product being used and returned. I think that's very important and even the instructions say not to share them. I gave it 3 stars because you are supposed to sterilize the needle roller before using (and really should after using). This is a challenge because you aren't supposed to set the roller on any surface because the needles can be damaged. There is zero way to put this in any type of sterilizing solution without setting it on the roller or having a giant container where the roller goes in with the handle at the bottom. I didn't have anything tall enough to submerge the roller with it at the top. I resulted in coating it with an anti-microbial soap and rinsing it for a bit in super hot water. I think they could almost redesign the packaging where the insert in the storage case was built in a way that could be submerged into a liquid for sterilizing. It barely penetrates the skin surface (there is no blood so don't freak out with the instructions), and it says to use it like every 5-7 weeks. Not really sure that will do much, so know that going into your purchase. Read more

I cannot attest to the effectiveness of this method yet, as its too early, however this is to report on the condition of the item received. This Derma roller comes in its own package in box with the instructions printed on it, so you may need to keep the box. Inside of that was the roller in a specialized clear case, all sealed in a plastic wrap of its own. I understand this process needs to be done in a sterile manner, so I was really happy that it arrived looking sterile and undeniably brand new. The ergonomic handle feels comfortable and the wheel spins easily. The needles are so small at this 0.2mm that I can barely feel them with my fingertips, I don't know if they will break the face skin or not. The box states that one needs a larger needle for scarring and wrinkles, so I don't know if this do anything yet. Now that the roller meets my approval, I can get together the necessary topical ointments and try it out. Read more
