I originally ordered this roller for my body as i already had one for my face, but the needles are shorter, so i switched them out after properly sanitizing them. It came in a protective clear case similar to the other one i have, which would be concerning if i store them in the same place. But, this derma roller has a color on the base of the roller so that makes it easy to tell them apart if you have multiple tools. I've been using it on my face for a while now and I still get great results by using this in my routine before i add serums and moisturizers. I've never had any cosmetic procedures done on my face, but was in the room while a friend had microneedling done and it terrified me. She was in so much pain. That made me afraid to use this, but I finally got brave and tried it. I can't believe I was so scared. You barely even feel the needles when you roll it across your face. I followed the directions and rolled a couple of times in different directions. This didn't hurt at all, but afterwards you can feel a tiny bit of stinging. My face did not turn red at all. The stinging lasted a full day. No recognizable difference in my skin after only one use, but I'll keep using it. My only complaint is there are no instructions on how often you should do a treatment. Once a week? Twice a month? I don't know. It doesn't give any advice on that.
