My husband wanted a Bose Wave Radio in White. Very pleased with purchase. Received the unit in 5 days, shipped from Indiana. Loved the price and the sound. Not used to not having buttons on it. Not to worry about the antenna as it's built into the cord. The remote has to be used for all functions. Do not place anything on top of it as touching the top/center just above the clock display turns the unit off and on. If you order this radio you better be home to receive from UPS. Surprised it did not come in a plain brown shipping box. It actually was shipped in the actual Bose Wave box and came in excellent condition. Depending on where you reside, if it is left at your door where people can see a package at your door and your not home, anyone will notice that it is a Bose Radio and it may not be there if UPS leaves it. This has been a disappointment! Not realizing these are refurbished Bose Wave Radios, and wanting to order the best value, trusting I would receive a quality easy to operate radio. It came well packaged, but no instructions & it is not simple at all. After a short time, it just comes on randomly. It drops preset radio stations, the volume changes randomly. We discovered it can be turned on & off by touching the top, but that feature does not work consistently. It is completely remote controlled, but unable to operate all features as no instructions were included. We have not tried reaching out to the company, but this was not what I expected in a Bose at all. Research better than I did before ordering. Read more

I have a lot of problems with reception here on Long Island. Mostly pull in Connecticut stations. I had a lot of problems with my radio fading in and out. The Bose never does that and the sound is just amazing. I bought this as a gift for me with my Amazon gift cards from the holidays and I am so glad I did. I recommend it. Love listening to NPR and Garrison Keillor on Saturdays. Its the high point of my day and he comes in clear as a bell. Read more

My 20-year-old 1st gen Wave has finally given up. All the capacitors are failing one by one; so I replaced it with a new 3rd gen model. The improvement in sound quality is actually noticeable to the ear, so I am very happy. Since I use it for PC sound and it sits right in front of me, I would prefer the buttons on top; as I now have to mess with the remote and the auto-touch on-off is somewhat of a pain. However, time marches on for this 70-year-old, and the sound quality improvement is definitely worth my learning newer tricks. I'm now waiting for my Windows XP to give up the ghost. Having to learn a completely new and inferior PC operating system IS REALLY going to be a pain for this old muggle. Read more

This is an expensive clock radio but I can't imagine an easier to use clock radio. You can tell at a glance which alarms are set and when they will go off. You can set the volume of the alarm radio to be different than what you're listening to. The auto-dim feature on the display works extremely well. You don't even know the auto dim is doing anything - you just look over and the display always looks good - easy to see in daylight and not the least bit distracting at night when you're trying to sleep. The unit comes with a substantial FM antenna, but I still don't get great FM reception on weaker stations. Strong stations are fine. My car in the garage downstairs gets 10 times better FM reception. The audio quality is good, but for the price I was expecting a little more. It's still better than the audio from any other clock radio I've listened to. Read more

Received it today. Wrapped it in the box I received it in. Decided to give it today (Christmas Eve) as she is making food for tomorrow and wrapping gifts all night. (Btw I am helping her wrap too and make food, but u know am a guy...) She saw it and heard the wave radio. All smiles now. She loves the sound n that she now knows what the song name is and who sang it. It is in the kitchen right now, but will be long term in the bathroom as that is where she spends most of her time. Have to build a shelf. Expensive but smiles r worth it. Every day she turns it on is a plus on my side. Read more
