I purchased this right after shoulder replacement, when the simpler sling issued at the hospital kept cutting into my neck. This sling transfers the load off the neck and onto a "collar" that surrounds the opposite shoulder. Also, it can be used with the arm flat on the stomach or with one or both cushions which put space between forearm and stomach. This aspect was also crucial to my comfort, because the foreman-pressed to-stomach position caused forearm cramping and shoulder discomfort from the forward torque placed on the new shoulder. I used one wedge cushion. The sling is very comfortable. The best part is that once you adjust the straps to your size, you never have to adjust them again. Instead, the design relies on two side-release plastic slide-in buckles that can easily be clipped and released with one hand. Regarding size: I am 5'4", 140 lbs. I purchased Medium but really should have purchased a Small. But I didn't have time to reorder and was able to make the medium work. My only complaint is the price but it is worth it. Read more
If you’re having shoulder surgery this is a must have! It’s pricey, yes...but so worth the money for taking the strap weight off your neck! This fits very securely, preventing your arm from swinging out, it’s comfortable, very well made. Once you figure out the straps, all you have to do is unsnap the clasps to remove it. Make sure to measure from the tip of your elbow to your first knuckles to get the right size. Read more

This is really the best brace if you are having shoulder surgery. I have cervical neck problems to the standard brace the goes behind the neck is impossible for me to use. This brace has a harness that shifts the weight of your arm onto your opposite shoulder, waist and back. No matter what, shoulder surgery is extremely painful. This brace made it easier to endure. My husband had a complete, reverse shoulder replacement. I purchased this hoping it would be a more comfortable sling for him (than the one provided at the hospital). We did not need/use the pillow as it was not the correct positioning for his healing. We watched several YouTube videos, tried at least 10x to get the proper fitting and support, and finally gave up. The straps are very long and it is quite confusing to properly fit (we used two other slings with no problem). Additionally, it is hard to have to play around so much, to get a proper fitting, on a person recovering from painful surgery. I would not recommend. Read more
