This produces a quality cup of water. My only concern is that a small piece of the pitcher broke off and my cat ate it. His eyesight and sense of smell are a bit challenged and I think he’s got a touch of pica, so he developed nausea and vomiting and did not pass his barium study. An exploratory laparotomy was done and the Brita pitcher piece was removed. He has since recovered well and no longer qualifies for pet insurance. He and our Brita pitchers are being monitored closely. Giving 5 stars because I imagine and hope this is not a common occurrence. Read more

Our last Brita pitcher (9 years old) was still going strong, but it was looking a bit dingy (it was white plastic) and we couldn't clean it to our satisfaction. So, to Brita's credit, even tho the old one was still working just fine, we wanted a "nicer" and newer Brita pitcher. So we got this one. The plastic is thick and feels high quality. The whole thing works exactly as advertised and as it is supposed to. We haven't had to buy a new filter for it (not sure how much those run) but for now, we are very pleased with it. I’d like to have a bigger tank since it’s kind of annoying to pour small amounts of water and wait till it soaks through the filter. Quality of plastic is not the best but it looks fine and minimalistic. It’s easy to assemble and take it apart to wash. Need to be constantly cleaned cause it starts to smell strange. This is such a pitcher upgrade for me! The last one I had was way too small. This pitcher is a great size, easy to use and I love the style of it. Also, the cover over the spout where the water comes out to fill your cup? Design innovation to write home about if you ask me. The lid kept falling off of my old Brita pitcher whenever I tried to pour from it. I *could* hold it in place - and I did - but this newer model of Brita pitcher seems to have solved that issue!. This was definitely a worthwhile purchase! Read more
