In my town, though the tap water is safe to drink, it is hard and has high mineral content that gives it a taste that some might find strange. The Brita products are a great help in removing the funny taste. I have used some regular Brita filter pitchers in the past, but many times it was difficult to tell when to change the filter. I often was the only user and I was not sure if a time based approach ( 2 month) worked because I was also traveling much and felt like I might not be using 40 gallons in two months. Also, in the old pitchers, I could not remove the top part (that holds the filter) to clean; after a few years, I would see deposits at the base of the container and it was difficult to clean. This pitcher addresses both these issues (replacement tracking, cleaning). I got this pitcher around 14 months ago and the indicator light still works great. As I had suspected earlier, I got the filter change indication for the first filter after more than 5 months, that suggests that I was underusing the filter in my old pitcher. Also, the top part can be removed completely and all parts can be cleaned to one's heart's content and I find that very helpful. Overall, a great, effective, and easy to use product, and a great value for money in the long run. It is large yet easily portable, more efficient due to the indicator light, and easy to maintain and clean; the material is strong and I do not see any cracking/chipping/scratching on the body. The two filters that came with it also added to the value. Read more

Every morning used to begin with a sigh and a clink of ice in tap water—fine, but never inspiring. Then the Brita Large Water Filter Pitcher entered my life, and suddenly, pouring water felt like a mini-ceremony of refreshment. Sliding that sleek black lid open, I fill it up and watch as it silently gets to work removing all those subtle off-flavors and chlorine. The SmartLight indicator is like a friendly nudge—no guesswork, just clarity when it’s time for a filter swap. It’s the kind of thoughtful design that makes a difference in your day without you even thinking about it. The pitcher fits perfectly in my fridge door, sits sturdy on the counter, and feels solid in hand when I lift it to pour. That 10-cup capacity means fewer refills and more uninterrupted hydration—morning coffee, midday slump, evening unwind, it’s always ready. And the taste? Crisp, clean, and slightly exciting—who knew water could feel like a small luxury? I’ve never looked back. No more bottled water clutter. Just a reliable, refreshing flow that makes me take a second sip and smile. This pitcher didn’t just upgrade my hydration—it gave me a moment of delight, every single time I reach for a glass. 💦✨ Read more

The new BRITA water pitcher, for that filter is a gallon size will it survive daily refills? (Yet it did have button tabs to read filters used count to replace that like batteries!) Read more

Great tasting water and so clean and clear. Plus I am saving money and helping the environment by not buying plastic bottles. Works perfect for me and I keep it in my room since I drink my water at room temperature. I fill it every day because I am a water drinker. Enjoy! Read more

Grabbed this on sale since our old Brita was over thirty years old. It's fairly large so make sure it will fit where you want it to go. It's well made and much nicer than the old square one that you had to remove the lid to fill, and this has a thumb lever to open the lid. The SmartLight LED at the spout comes on when you pour, and the flow is very controlled to eliminate any spilling. We haven't used it enough yet to get the indications to replace the filter, and I'm not sure how that works, if by the pours or the fills. One thing to note is that it's fairly heavy when fully filled and can be awkward to handle, so the smaller six cup might be a better choice for some people. Anyway, we like ours. Read more

Note: You have to activate the SmartLight feature by pushing buttons that are inside the pour spout. I have another Brita and also a Zero water filter. (The filters for the Zero are ridiculously expensive. I won't purchase more of them.) I LOVE the fact that this Brita has the light that is supposed to indicate if filtration is being done effectively. I have no idea if I change filters too often or too infrequently. This will prevent me from throwing out perfectly good filters. This Brita holds more water than my other filters, which is obviously an improvement. Water in my municipality basically smells like a swimming pool--an over-chlorinated swimming pool. All of the filters take care of that problem. I use the filtered water for all of my cooking (pasta, soup, etc.) as well as for the cats' water bowls. And for making ice. (I don't have an ice maker in my fridge, just old-school ice cube trays.) I'll probably replace my two previous filters with the SmartLight indicator pitchers after I am sure that the light system works. Read more
