Great filters

I've read alot of negative reviews on longlast filters so I was a little hesitant when I bought this pitcher. All around it's solid, my water tastes better than it ever has before. The filter works quickly about 2 minutes to filter the reservoir. If the pitcher was completely empty it would take about 6 loads of the reservoir to fill it up, so you're looking at 12 minutes. If you're responsible or don't have irresponsible roommates that refill the reservoir when they get a glass then this thing should stay full for the most part! Other than that the pitcher is solid; very easy to clean, and has an indicator light when you fill the reservoir to show the life of your filter. Brita claims these long last filters last for 120 gallons or about 6 months. Our filter light is still showing green after a couple of months so I'd say it's doing good so far and I will let anyone know if it changes. Read more

LOVE this water filter!

I had another brand for years, which was okay, but there were fragile parts that would break or come apart. That company went out of business. Then I bought the Brita "Grand" 10 cup water filter pitcher and I did not like that. The design of the pitcher and handle made it hard to hold and always feel heavy and awkward. This pitcher fixes that completely!!! The fill hatch on the Grand would pop off when filling unless you were very careful and would fall off as you poured out the last bit of water in the pitcher - NOT on this one!! :) That hatch is attached on this pitcher. It also pours with a clean stream of water that makes it easy to fill things and that stream doesn't fall apart as it did on both of my previous pitchers, including the Grand. Finally, there were reviews which warned that the water ran through quickly and so they assumed it wasn't filtering well. I suspect that those users did not line up the notches. When inserting the filter, you have to be careful to line it up correctly, then push it in snugly. Of course, if it's not in all the way and doesn't seal, then yes - it won't work well, but it's easy to do it correctly if you're aware. I recommend this pitcher without reservation! What a relief!!! Best filter I have ever owed

CustomerApril 7, 2020✓ Verified purchase

We love love love this filter. We moved to Philadelphia and are used to well water. The water is hard, possible lead due to old pipes, and has a strong chlorine smell/ taste. We bought this after heavily reviewing and are very satisfied. We don’t smell or taste the chlorine and it really makes a difference. The design itself is fool proof. No way of water spilling into the container without going through the filter. The filter itself is quick. To the comments/ other reports about the unfiltered water dripping through... those people are just being messy. If you fill the water past the fill line or you turn on the water prior to putting the filter down... you will splash the water into the areas on the top that are open... this isn’t a design flaw.. it’s a user error. The long lasting filter will save you money. Would definitely recommend it if you have harsh/ heavy water. I only wish they could design a shower filter attachment! Read more

the ten cup Monterey is really 6 cups and takes a long time to filter

ChrisMarch 4, 2020✓ Verified purchase

Dear Brita, the Monterey pitcher looks nice. I could only get 6 cups of filtered water, not TEN. The water would go up to the fill line partially up the pitcher (I assume it is a fill line). Directions for filter are confusing, and I quote a portion, "ONLY keep the FILL LID open for more than 5 seconds. IF you are filling the reservoir with water." Who wrote these instructions? I see advertisements that tap water can be poured into the top of the pitcher, lifting up only the lid. If one does that, they have no idea when the reservoir is filled and needs refilling. I also see that one can pull the top compartment with lid and spout out of pitcher and fill the reservoir directly. Wait, then fill again, wait and fill again. I don't know what I was expecting. It appears that the filter change indicator only counts how may times you pour, not the condition of your filter. I tried to register my new purchase, however it seems that one can only put their name down IF they agree to all the many contractual jargon. Not Cool. Read more

Improved Taste of Water - "Softer"

Al B.August 13, 2021✓ Verified purchase

I purchased this pitcher after I started increasing my water intake. At first I was drinking water straight from the tap, which was fine for a few weeks. I then began to notice that after drinking 8-16 oz of tap water at a time, I would soon get stomach aches that would last for hours on end. Not immediately realizing the association, I kept drinking the water from the tap. A friend of mine suggested I get the Brita water pitcher when I told her about my stomach pain. I ordered this one off of Amazon and I love the color, ease of use and filter quality indicator light. After using, I've not had any more stomach pain, and the water is noticeable softer and smoother. Read more

This makes the water taste great!

GracePFebruary 5, 2020✓ Verified purchase

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. First of all, the water no longer has any strong chemical smell or taste. As the company recommended, I keep the pitcher in the fridge to slow down bacteria and mold growth. Then, I boil the filtered water before drinking since the pitcher filter does not give you sterile water. Please do not leave your pitcher on the counter. The filter can get moldy easily, and it's very hard to remove mold. If you don't like chilled water, just boil the water. Second, I love the long-lasting filter that's supposed to remove 99% of lead, which is more economical and efficient! I'll have to check how long this lasts though. Please note that there is the max fill indicator inside the reservoir, and you should fill the water below the line. If you fill above the line, unfiltered water will drip into the pitcher, which some reviews complained about. Overall, I am happy with this purchase :) Read more
