I have both a PUR filter on my faucet and 2 Brita Pitchers. My wife and I both agree the Brita is the better of the two. Not sure why, the PUR seems to be designed with a more in depth filter, but the Brita water has a distinctive neutral taste that you expect from water. I have a good source from a deep well, but Iron Bacteria is a problem, and the Brita does a great job of filtering any odd taste out. Highly recommended. Ignore the bits of charcoal that float up, they never get through, and it seems it is just a part of the fine charcoal filter package. They do last the advertised time, and it seems a lot better way to do it, than to have mega piles of empty plastic bottles, and you don't have to worry about plastic chemical leaching into the water you're drinking. Cost effective solution. Read more

I've used Brita pitchers for water for decades, but I recently got interested in making infused liquors and bitters, so now I have a new use for them. After you infuse things in alcohol, you must filter out the solids before bottling or serving. I pour my finished products through a dedicated Brita pitcher (presoak the filters as prescribed) and it gets out an amazing amount of tiny particles from spices, and even some of the too dark colors. I also read somewhere online that you can improve the flavor of cheap booze, not to put too fine a point on it, by pouring it through your Brita. The off tastes in cheaper liquors are often the result of imperfect filtration at the manufactory. So, the Brita takes care of that, too. But don't forget that it is an excellent product for filtering water! I am on well water, and without my Brita, I'd have spent years drinking less than tasty water and looking at cloudy ice cubes. Whatever your use, Brita is a very good, reliable product. Read more

Ok...so its not really fun. Actually, it's quite boring waiting for your water to pass through the filter. These Brita filters arrived pretty quickly. You get 5 for a great price on Amazon. Although, I did notice Walmart can sometimes have them cheaper when on sale. But it is hit or miss. I usually replace my filter every 3 months, so I should be good for another year with this pack. I even keep an extra smaller 5 cup pitcher that I got at Walmart for $10 bucks (with a filter). The reason I gave these filters 4 stars is because when I opened the one it had the black charcoal specks all over in the wrapper. I never had this problem before. It still seemed fine and I am of course going to use it but I thought it was worth mentioning. Maybe I just got a strange batch. I recommend buying these filters from Amazon for their great price! i live in NY, and we have the best quality tap water in the entire country, but still chlorine makes it weird.. With this filter, water is odorless and easy to drink. Somehow it makes you drink more water..strongly recommend it. I change it every four months..and this package option is the best deal you can find in the market. Read more

I use it daily and it goes everywhere with me. This cup is a beautiful stainless steel inside and out. I can put ice and water in it in the morning and enjoy icy cold water all day long. There is no sweating on the outside of the cup which I love because I don't have to worry about water damage to my wood furniture or to important papers at work. I especially love the stainless steel straw that came with my cup. The cup comes with a plastic lid that you can drink from or place the straw in. Also, I liked the bonus cork coaster that came with the tumbler. It feels good and convenient to place my tumbler on it. This cup would make a great gift for anyone. I would definitely buy this tumbler as a gift for my daughter’s next birthday. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Read more

I've had fits with the Brita Longlast filters, as they seem to clog up or stop flowing very quickly. So I went back to these standard filters. These have good water flow and the filtering process is just as effective. This 5-count package is far less than what you would pay per-filter in the store. Read more

I've had my Brita water filter for close to one year. I had moved to a new place and the water had a strong mineral taste. The Brita filter makes the water fresh tasting instantly. The five cup pitcher sits on the shelf in the fridge without taking too much space, and is easy to pour from. The filter itself lasts several weeks and has a handy light system that tells you when it will need replacement. I have found it to be a good purchase and would recommend it to friends. Read more

They're cheaper here. These new ones pass water through them faster than the old ones. Makes me feel like they're not filtering as well but heck, part of this filtered water business is psychological right? Without these filters, the water out of my apartment's pipes taste different. And not good different. So whatever these filters do, it's making me think the water tastes better. I recently found a competing brand that I like better so this'll probably be my last batch of Brita filters. It was fun while it lasted my friend. (Don't forget to prep them as instructed or you'll get that weird black sediment in your glass. Even if you do, don't dump it, water a plant!) Read more
