TLDR; If you want a set of knives that feel good in the hand and are relatively inexpensive, these are a solid option. Ok. So for full transparency, I am a bit of a knife enthusiast. Some might say even a bit of a knife snob. When I first opened these, I was impressed with the care taken to put a point guard and wrap every knife individually. The included block is nice to look at and is solid. After opening each blade and putting them in their respective spot, I started to inspect them. Specifically what Country is stamped on the blade and what type of steel was used. Most of the blades have some sort of variation of the number "CA9310x" The "x" spot on some is blank, on others it is a number. I am familiar with " SAE 9310" But I have never seen anything with CA in front. So I am not really sure what the manufacturer is trying to convey. "9310" steel is a steel that is usually reserved for heavy industry or aerospace. It would be highly uncommon to use this steel for a knife. I dont want to throw accusations willy nilly, so maybe it is just an item number for the specific knife. Either way, I decided to rate this set at 4 stars. Out of the box the knives are sharp. Your average user would probably say very sharp. They seem well made and are relatively heavy. They feel good in the hand as long as you know that ANY metal handled knife can become slippery. There are some little rubber ribs thoughtfully placed to help with this though. So why 4 stars? This set could be 5 stars or 1 star depending on 1 very important thing. What is the edge retention? Without knowing what steel was used, its impossible to know and I will just have to use them to see if they will hold an edge. I will also check for pitting and rusting. fwiw, we always hand wash and then towel dry our kitchen knives, never the dish washer. After 4 or 5 uses I will test sharpness again, and then update this review. Read more

The media could not be loaded. This is a very very nice quality knife set! The weight of each knife is perfect for holding to cut with. They don’t give you any hand fatigue, and each knife has these small strips of rubber like gripping towards the base of the actual knife to help keep it securely held in your hand. Very nice feature to have! They’re also very sharp! Now I cannot say how long these will stay sharp before having to sharpen them. I have not used these long enough to be able to give an accurate review on this area. I can say I have been using these for a good month, and they’re still as sharp as the day I received them! That all depends on how much you use them. Which I use my set quite a bit, but it’s not every single day either. They’re mad with a very high quality material. It looks and feels like stainless Steele. However I’m not a knife expert so I don’t know this for a fact! I just know it’s a very durable and high grade material! I love how they came in a gorgeous box . Each knife was carefully wrapped with a safety tip on each end of the knife. The block is made from solid wood also! I would never put my knife’s in the dishwasher to begin with! Each one is always hand washed and completely dried as soon as I wash it! These aren’t what top name chefs would use, but these are high quality enough for a good chef in your kitchen would be very pleased with to use! With the great packaging, the overall wonderful quality of this entire set. This would make someone a fantastic gift for the upcoming holidays! Right now it’s on a Black Friday discount for around 85$ which is a STEAL for this sit! Even though I have seen some reviews state the block die not have a built in knife sharpener? It most certainly does! I’m just not fond of these types of knife sharpeners and prefer to use my own. Very nice, very well made sit, that you get plenty of different kinds of knife’s for just about every knife you would need in your kitchen! Along with a pair of meat cutting scissors which I totally love! Highly recommend! Plus I do not like much sitting on my kitchen counters either! This is a really nice knife set. My 20+ year old set from one of the major German manufacturers was in need of replacement so I thought I would give this a try. It is comparable to my old set (if not better) at a fraction of the cost. The blades come with a nice sharp edge from the factory and seem to not dull as fast as my older ones. I absolutely love the weight and feel of the solid metal vs. my old wooden handle knives. These have a heavy handle that balances the knife perfectly in hand. I also like the sharpener built into the block for when you need to get a quick little edge on your knife. The chefs knife made easy work out of fajita prep last night. These knives are so nice!! They are very high quality, super sharp! The block comes with every basic knife you could need - all the regular stuff that comes in a knife block, but extremely good quality and very nice looking too! Each knife is a nice light weight and very easy to maneuver. The block also has a sharpener built in, which is a nice touch. It fits as expected on my countertop too. These knives cut like everything is butter and are so smooth and easy to use. The fact that they are dishwasher safe is also a huge plus. Overall, I am extremely happy with these knives!
