Wished the kit contained a small brown tube to get a better color match. Very easy to use. Read more
I bought this kit with high hopes of fixing some fading and scratches, but the "super easy" instructions were a bit of a shock. Once I opened the box and saw the mixing guides and steps required, I promptly got overwhelmed and decided to save this project for a day when I have a lot more patience. The Reality of DIY Repair: The Mixing Struggle: The kit comes with a color mixing guide, but matching the exact shade of "brown" on a couch or car seat is an art form. If you are off by just a shade, the repair will stand out more than the original scratch. Chemical Curing: This isn't a "wipe on, wipe off" fix. It requires layering, grain paper application, and drying time, which can be intimidating for a beginner. The Intimidation Factor: While the $15.99 price point is great, the barrier to entry is the time and precision required. It’s definitely not a 5-minute job. The Pros (If you have the patience): Versatility: It’s designed for genuine, faux, and artificial leather, making it a "one-stop-shop" for furniture, purses, and car seats. Comprehensive: For under $16, you get multiple colors, mixing tools, and backing fabric for larger tears. Bottom Line: This is a high-value kit if you are a patient DIY-er who enjoys color mixing. If you were looking for a quick "marker-style" fix, these instructions might make you run away, too! I’m holding onto it for now, but I’ll need a very brave afternoon to actually start the process. This kit comes with everything you need, it’s really good for beginners! I am an auto body and detail manager at a new and used car dealership and we typically have a guy that comes once a week to the lot and fixes all of the leather seat issues we may have on cars we just received (usually vehicles that were bought off of the street or traded in the previous week). But with this kit I’ll be able to do them myself and at least get a feel for it myself! Ive watched the guy do multiple seats, doors, consoles, etc. and always thought it was interesting…and I’ve watched a lot of videos on “how to” also! This kit should be valued a lot higher cus you don’t use much most of the time, there’s enough here to do many! There’s a wide range of color options too. I def recommend this to anyone interested in fixing leather themself and think it’s well worth the value! Hope to come back and post pics of my work soon! The one thing I do wish is that it came with a small bag or a box to keep everything in. ..but I’ll just keep the original box for now! Read more

I ordered this vinyl repair kit to fix an old massage chair that was scraped up by cats & dogs. This is the first time I ever tried to repair leather. The directions for this kit were easy to understand and pretty straightforward. Luckily, I didn’t need to mix the original black repair compound with white to lighten it. The videos demonstrating the repairs are misleading, because the results came out “perfect.” In reality, repairing leather takes a lot of patience and many coats to come out right. This is a good beginner kit for small scuffs. I wish it came with a small scuffing pad or light sandpaper. Instead, the directions say to use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to gently polish the area and to smooth out the edges. Doing this is very time consuming. There will be edges from the scraping tool unless you are very careful and meticulous. Here’s what I learned. Take your time. Prep the leather by cleaning it thoroughly. Remove any loose debris, hair, fuzz, etc. Otherwise, they will end up in the repair compound and will dry on your leather. Rub your hand over the leather. Are there any areas that stick out, like from claw punctures? If so, lightly scuff them to flatten them. Repairing leather takes a lot of patience and many, many coats to look right. I repaired more than 50 different spots on an old massage chair over a weekend. I took a break and will do the finishing touches later. Once I’m finished, I’ll use a leather & vinyl recoloring balm to make the entire chair a uniform color. So far, it looks much better than it did before. But, I like perfection. Overall, this is a good beginner vinyl/leather repair kit for small areas. The coverage is adequate and the repair compound lasts a long time. I still have some left over after making dozens of repairs. It comes with a scraping tool for larger areas, a repair patch, and two smaller brushes. This kit is a good value and is worth the money. This product did not work at all, the adhesive never got sticky, it dried and was stiff and flaked off. The directions were simple to understand, the product just did not work. I rated it one star and that was being generous Read more
Seriously, this kit’s the real deal, it was for black leather with 2 tubes of black, but also included a tube of white to enable mixing to achieve a perfect match of black. Very easy to use, I used mini sponge brushes to apply to my car seats where they had started to wear, now you cannot tell there was ever an issue. Read more
