For the price I figured this would not hold up very well, but I decided to try it so that I could have a mount for my phone in my hubby's vehicle. Was I pleasantly surprised by this thing. It not only accommodates my phone in it's case, it sticks to the window like a champ! I put it on the front window over 2 months ago, and it is still right where I put it. I really like the adjustability of this holder, making it easy to pull it out from the window when I need to access something on my phone, and then slide it closer to the window out of the way when not in use. The hinge points are holding up well, with no cracking or inability to tighten it. The holder has cushions on the sides and bottom which makes sure my phone doesn't get scratched by any plastic pieces. It is easy to use, easy to install, and easy to adjust. This is a light weight, sturdy phone holder that works well in a variety of situations but may not be perfect if you have a lot of leather-textured surfaces in your car. The suction cup base has some kind of adhesive on it and gives an extremely strong grip on smooth surfaces. However, I found that it is not possible to reliably mount it on my dashboard which has a fake leather texture. The base simply would not hold. This was a fairly minor problem as I was able to mount it under the rear-view mirror instead, but for some vehicles this may not be possible, so keep that in mind. The arm and phone holder portions are sturdy and have handles you can twist to securely lock them in place, which is great. Ones that are purely friction and don't have some kind of mechanical twists like these can come loose in hot weather. The phone holder itself has good grip and keeps the phone secure over bumps and turns. The arm can move longer or shorter depending on your needs, which helps it fit into smaller spaces. The other complaint I have about it is that the handle to lock the base is directly under the folding arm and cannot be pushed down unless the arm is pointing upward, which again can limit your mounting options and makes installation somewhat more difficult. Overall, this is a very sturdy mount but one that has finnicky installation issues. If it will work for you, it is rock solid and recommended, but ensure it will fit your needs before purchase.
