This mount does hold you phone well using the back magnet. This must be attached can be attached to smooth surfaces , it does work on textured dashboards with the adhesive pad. The only thing to be concerned with is the arm cannot be adjusted for length, which would make it more versatile. Read more

Sturdy Magnetic Phone Mount

Ordered this to use in our car, to have a sturdy phone mount when using the GPS. It works really well and we've been quite happy with it so far. It was easy to install. After cleaning the dashboard surface, we removed the throwaway plastic covering the sticky suction cup, rotate the mount to the unlocked direction, press it down where we wanted it installed, and then spin it back to the locked mounted position. Once in place, it hasn't moved, even after repeatedly snapping and unsnapping our phones to the magnetic mount side. The magnet is strong, and both my wife and my phone has no problem clipping onto it. We both have android phones with magnetic cases that work well with this. At about $22 at the time of writing this review, it's a good value for a sturdy, easy-to-install mount. Read more
