This is an excellent tripod in every way. It is solid and steady on most surfaces. The legs of this tripod are made of carbon fiber tubing with a maximum diameter of 40mm. Other parts of the tripod are made from an aluminum alloy machined using CNC machining to high-quality specifications. Included with the tripod are a 75mm bowl and half bowl, two sizes of appropriate Allen wrenches, three spiked screw-in feet, three rubber screw-in feet, leveling plate with hanging hook and well-built nylon soft case for carrying the tripod using either the wrapped and velcro secured dual handles (for single-hand carrying) and a nylon strap for carrying over the shoulder. One zippered side compartment and a hidden compartment finish the details of the case. Two small Allen wrenches are also included. All of these features and accessories make the case, tripod, and accessories a superb product at a fantastic price! To me, there are a couple of issues but these are easily overlooked by the quality of the product. For your concern, I will state that with some basic assembly document there is some frustration on how to put it together with more ease in getting up and running. This is not an issue to reduce a star rating but it would be nice to have something of a basic instruction document included with this product. Secondly, all of the accessories are in either the side compartment of the carrying case and the other compartment in the inner and upper side of the case. You should also know that a quick message to the customer service department for Innorel will easily provide quick fixes for the above. In short, I am very pleased with my purchase of the RT90-C Innorel Tripod. I will be promoting this item to others that ask me for a suggestion or for advice. Excellent product and excellent service with a price that can't be beaten by all other competitors. Read more
I love the mount. I don't love that I couldn't find any instructions, either with the package or on the manufacturer 's web site. It is NOT intuitive that to set the angle of the legs, you have to pull outward on the plates at the top of the legs. It is NOT intuitive that to unscrew the hook from the puck, you have to loosen a separate grub screw which prevents it from turning. I was lucky I was only using soft jaw pliers to help try and turn it when I had a vague memory of it being mentioned in a product review and looked for it. It is NOT obvious that the two grub screws in the puck are to prevent whatever you have screwed onto the puck (in my case a strainwave telescope mount) from unscrewing itself while slewing in azimuth and come crashing to the ground. The system is brilliant and a welcome relief from a worry I had, but NOT obvious. This a fantastic tripod. Light, strong, steady. It works well with my Sky-Watcher Wave 100i telescope mount. But the manufacturer's lack of readily accessible documentation is NOT fantastic. Read more
One of my best purchases ever. Solid and sturdy. Tall, I’m 6’2 and it can get way taller than me. Absolutley love this tripod Read more
This is a very robust tripod at a very nice price. While I wouldn't want to hike long distances with it, for its size and stability, the weight is very manageable. The carrying case with which it comes is also nice. That said, buy it with the bowl adapter. After my purchase, I realized the added value of this accessory. I would have saved myself $20 if I had purchased them together. The only quibble I have is that you have to buy the camo version to get the carrying strap. I would like to see the various accessories available in all three color schemes. Read more
Okay, let's get this out of the way first: this thing is expensive! But in this case, you definitely get what you pay for. Everything about it oozes quality-- all handles and controls are buttery smooth, joints lock well, and when set up, it feels super sturdy. I don't doubt that it can hold every ounce that it claims, that's for sure. It has no problem whatsoever holding up about 40 pounds of telescope and mount without even a hint of flex. If I had one criticism, it would be that it doesn't come with some kind of spreader. Something to keep the legs spaced out and keep anything from shifting would really make this a complete package. Instead, I used a 3d printer to make one and modified the aluminum insert to have the thread I needed, and it now works incredibly well. Oh, and did I mention how light it is?? It feels as sturdy as the two inch steel tripod I had been using, but is literally a quarter as heavy. All in all, if you can stomach the cost, I think it's a great heavy duty option. Read more
