The QRC3 is an excellent utilitarian mount for portable/packable verticals. I can't say for certain, but it looks to be the same OEM mount included with a certain antenna manufacturer's clever "Jaw Mount" product (a company known for rugged high-quality antennas). In any case, the build quality here is excellent. Some reasons why I think this mount is pretty great: - 180º swivel can be set anywhere throughout its range, allowing attachment to lopsided structures - Clamp grasps objects from ~3" thick to skinnier "masts" than could support an antenna - Thoughtfully placed ~#8 hole makes adding a counterpoise connector easy - Build quality is significantly better than the typical "CB" product today - The mount I received shows none of the poor workmanship / sloppy machining mentioned by a previous reviewer - Surprisingly compact: fits my Super Antenna go bag nicely, alongside other add-on hardware - When operating near developed land—and often not—there's always something to leverage as a base (convenience optional) - Metal fences = instant ground plane - Suitable for end-feeding single wire antennas when clamped to an adequate RF ground - Build a dipole adapter with minimal work: drill a section of bar stock for opposing studs, or one stud and a 3/8x24 threaded hole And the cons: - The mount is chromed. I think chrome is ugly. Considering my only con is purely subjective, I'd say this product is a big win. I wish I knew about this mount sooner. IMO, it's indispensable addition to the kit of anyone involved with any kind of portable ops. There's a good chance I won't be dragging along a tripod anymore for park/lakefront ops. Read more

The media could not be loaded. A Versatile Clamp for Stealth Antenna Installations: My Experience with the Quick Release Mirror Mount Originally, I purchased this clamp with visions of setting up portable ham radio operations on a deck or park bench. However, I found an even more ingenious use for it - clamping it to a sapling on my property to support my 17’ telescoping vertical antenna. This setup has been a game-changer for those of us always on the lookout for new ways to discreetly install antennas. For over a year, this clamp has held my antenna aloft without the slightest hint of loosening. It's proven to be exceptionally sturdy, allowing me to operate across the 6m to 20m bands effortlessly. I've even upgraded the setup by adding a hefty Wolf River Coil loading coil, enabling operations on 40m and 30m without any slippage or instability. The beauty of this clamp lies in its versatility. Its large jaws can secure your antenna to almost anything that fits within its grasp, making it a perfect tool for anyone looking to innovate their antenna mounting solutions. Perhaps humorously, I often think that maybe one day, this sapling will grow into a full-fledged tree, giving me a natural tower! LOL. Until then, this piece of kit has not only met but exceeded my expectations for reliability and functionality. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get creative with their antenna installations. This is a well made quality quick mount that will accomidate any standard SO-239 stud mount with its 1/2 inch hole. I am using this mount to clamp on to my aluminum balcony, and it holds with rigidity. I like that it is easily rotatable for horizontal or vertical orientation and has a small hole to connect a radial wire if needed. I would recommend this product for amateur radio portable or permanent antenna mounting. Read more

Works great for M10 or 3/8th antenna stuff. Great for when you find just that right counterpose, like a 400' chain link fence on the Columbia River at a rest stop. Read more
