Long term review. After sharpening 3 knives the clamp no longer holds any knife at the same angle on both sides of the knife. When it was new the angle difference between sides was within 0.5 to 0.8 degrees, which is acceptable. But after 3 knives the difference is 1.5 to 2 degrees difference between sides. There is no way to adjust the springs to calibrate the clamp.(updated to 4 stars) The company reached out and offered a free replacement, I declined as I had already purchased the TS Prof version, they offered a full refund and I accepted. As others have noted, this unit is not symmetrical and gives a different angle when flipping the knife. In my case, it's over 5 degrees measured with a good quality angle gauge. I played around quite a bit with the 3 clamping screws on the unit and the unit itself, but there is simply no way to adjust given the use of rivets instead of adjustment screws. I guess you might get lucky, but I would avoid this product until the design is corrected. Read more

This is a fantastic sharpening system. I have two other fixed angle sharpeners, and the ability to rotate the knife without removing it is the difference. This is the generic version of a much more expensive sharpener. The customer support is top notch. I had a tight fit on a certain part and they quickly sent me a whole new assembly. Bravo! This uses any generic one by sixsharpening stone as well. You do not have to buy the maker’s proprietary stones. This is really the biggest reason I switched. It takes a time or two to get used to the angle finder, purchased separately. It’s not difficult and it makes it so your angle is repeatable. It’s required equipment with any fixed angle sharpener. I ended up getting the small knife, single clamp too we’ll see how that works. Read more

Allows me to sharpen my pocket knives as well as my thinner kitchen knives. The clamps that came with the Xarilk stand really tall and I wasn't able to sharpen my thinner kitchen knives because they get in the way when I try to sharpen at 10-12 degrees on some of them. The clamp works well, there is a bit of a learning curve setting it up for full flat ground blades. There's some felt material inside the jaws, which I promptly ruined by not noticing and putting tape over. You might need to get longer thumb screws if you're planning to use it on a toorh3.
