So far, I'm very pleased with this sharpener. It's highly flexible, allowing a range of sharpening angles and blade sizes, unlike many other "roller" style sharpeners (which don't seem as safe either). Also, it's not unwieldy like those countertop mounted swing arm options. It's much more compact that I expected too. Overall, I'm very impressed with the quality and it's half the price of similar options out there for the same value. And it works too! I was able to get a knife paper slicing sharp. At first I thought it was just poor sharpening stones leading to a mediocre edge which might still be the case. What really tipped things into the two star rating was discovering that the knife holder doesn’t hold the angle when applying pressure during grinding. That totally defeats the purpose. It gets more than 1 star because it did get a useable edge on a knife but definitely not as sharp as a factory edge that has been used for months. Read more
