I haven't tried merino wool before as I am extremely sensitive to even minor itchiness. Nevertheless, I was in need of a new white sweater so decided to try this. I wore a turtleneck on my first day in the sweater just in case it was more itchy than I could stand. The turtleneck sleeves did not reach the wrist so I was still directly exposed to the merino wool fabric all day. And wow. It did not bother me at all. I was aware of the fabric's feeling different from the cotton and acrylic sweaters I normally wear, but itchiness was not a factor. I planned to roll up the sweater sleeves if the sensation became too much but it didn't end up being necessary. When I pared down my layers in the middle of the day it did not leave white bits all over my black turtleneck, which I appreciated. I got a medium and it fits perfectly--it's cut fairly slender but still forgiving, definitely not skin-tight. I'm 5'7, 155 lbs. I usually buy size medium in tops and size 8 in dresses. Note that this is a hand-wash item. However, even after a full day of wear, it did not smell at all--so I think it is a little more resistant to body odor than some fabrics. This is a 100% "superfine" Merino wool cable knit sweater in "tan". Since "tan" is a hard color to describe I've provided photographs under LED flood lights, studio lighting, and natural sunlight. I was hoping for a baggy sweater so I ordered an XL, but as you can see it is somewhat fitted. Size accordingly. (I'm 5'10" and size 8/10.) The sweater looks (and feels) great on though, so I can't complain. The wool is very soft and did not itch at all. The pattern is very even and straight. There were no loose threads or pulls. It does not snag easily. It's the perfect weight to wear alone without a jacket in fall, or to keep warm when worn under a coat in winter. It will be ideal for New England. I'm personally not a fan of sweaters but this one changed my mind. My very first ever Merino Wool and I love how lightweight it feels and how it's non-scratchy. No undershirt is needed to wear this and is soft to the touch. I'm normally in between sizes from S and M but decided to just get a Large. It's on the bigger side but I love a loose fit sweater when it comes to cooler weather. I can wear a collared shirt and still feel comfortable. I love this sweater but i am biased because I love wool. This fabric is so soft (for wool, sensitive skin folks should layer something underneath).
