The best low profile keyboard

KatelynFebruary 25, 2026✓ Verified purchase

Pros: I’ve been looking for a nice keyboard with low profile keys for a long time and this hits the nail on the head. It’s thick enough to keep my wrists at a good angle and heavy enough to feel expensive. I’m obsessed with the feeling of these keys. They have a little bit of spring to them but they’re not obnoxiously loud like a lot of mechanical keyboards. The keys don’t have chasms between them like many other keyboards so my nails never get caught! Long nail approved 👍 Cons: Keys occasionally get stuck and I’ll end up with 4-5 of those letters, but it’s not frequent enough for me to care too much. There’s no place for the usb connector so I have to throw it into the bottom of my bag whenever I take the keyboard home. Overall, this is the best low-profile keyboard you can get in this price range. Read more

The Cherry keyboard is very nice. It is heavy and stays in place while typing. I also like the keys. They have a nice feel. It preforms very well. Read more

Nice feel. Solid and soft. Not flat flat chicklets style. In between the old normal keys those super flat. Has a nice comfortable travel works great and feels solid like it will be here for some time. Read more

Good entry-level keyboard

AlexFebruary 16, 2024✓ Verified purchase

This is one of the best budget wireless keyboard with scissor switches. Let me explain why: - The switches provide good feedback, with a nice springy action, while being quiet. It is somewhat reminiscent of a good laptop keyboard. In fact, I bought it because it was often recommended in my research. - Good build quality: there is a nice weight to the keyboard from what I assume is a metal plate inside. The rest of the keyboard is made of plastic which seems to be of the durable type. Time will tell. Also, I have to give points to Cherry for their platic-less, paper packaging. - Advertised battery life is 36 months from the 2xAA batteries. I do prefer this to a rechargeable cell as I can easily see myself using this keyboard beyond 3-4 years, at which point most rechargeable batteries can't hold a charge anymore, rendering it useless. However, there are a few cons to highlight which is why I’m returning it. - This thing is WIDE. Despite it being advertised as wireless, it's hard to fit in most laptop backpacks due to how wide it is. The "bezel" on the sides could be slimmer since there doesn't seem to have any function or purpose. This also means that my mouse has to be placed further away, which is less than ideal from an ergonomic perspective. There is a TKL version without a numpad but I need it for work. - The operating force is a bit higher (65g) than typical so you don't glide as easily on the keyboard. You have to be intentional in your keypresses. I think that you should get used to it over time. - Cherry should've offered the option of Bluetooth connectivity on top of the USB dongle as there is no storage for it on the keyboard and could easily be lost. Overall, given the price, the Cherry Stream Wireless keyboard is a great option if you are looking for a full-sized wireless keyboard with scissor switches. It's pleasant to type on but it also isn't the best in terms of portability and ergonomics. Ultimately, I’m returning it because it’s too big. Read more

Great wireless keyboard

Da_MittenMay 27, 2022✓ Verified purchase

It’s a very nice low profile wireless keyboard that feels great when typing. You can feel the quality. Comparing with my other keyboard, Logitech 915tkl, it is as heavy and stable. And because they have scissors switches the keys are more intact than the Logitech, and does not wobble at all. My tactile 915 is great but not 200 dollars worth. At around 50 dollars, this 2.4ghz wireless keyboard without the backlit or RGB lighting is equally as good when it comes down to office performance. For gaming I would go with a mechanical keyboard for the clickiness and strength. If you looking for a stable, heavy, nearly 2lbs wireless keyboard, and relatively quiet keyboard I recommend this one. Read more

worthwhile purchase

Keyboards can be difficult to buy without trying them out. I bought this one based on a PC Mag review as well as Cherry's reputation for quality mechanical switches (even though this one uses scissor switches). It does not disappoint. It has great key touch and travel. It's heavy physical weight with many anti-skid feet keeps it from sliding around. Has a "top of the line" feel to it without the high price. The key layout exactly matches the original pro workstation keyboard that came with my computer. What's not to like? Once I got the PC to recognize and remember the keyboard by doing a hard boot, I could even use the RF receiver plugged into the "always on" powered rear USB port on my Lenovo PC and use the "ALT+P" shortcut to power up the computer. Can't do that with a bluetooth keyboard. This keyboard is a keeper and an excellent value. Update: unfortunately I had a small spill that made a key sticky. I should have tried flushing it out with a bit of water and allowed everything to air dry but stupidly thought I could just pop the key cap. It didn't break the 2 scissors parts or the key cap but they sure won't snap back together properly. I like the keyboard so much I just ordered a replacement. Read more
