Have been using this for a couple months and haven't had to replace the filter yet, though getting to the filter is very easy so should be simple when the time comes. With my allergies, air seems cleaner and definitely sleep better with this on!! Anything over a level-2 setting seems a little loud though. Not too bulky and worth the prce. We have tried a few different air purifiers and this one has created a real difference in our basement. There isn't as much airflow down there as the rest of the house and occassionally, I could smell the water from the sump pump. But the smell is gone and it's a nicer place to hang out now.
