Chuckit Rugged Bumper Dog Toy - Durable Fetch Stick with TPR Ridges for Easy Grip - Tug-of-War Toy

This is been a great dog park toy for us in the two months we've owned it. I have a 37 pound puppy who is a heavy retriever, and whether I throw this toy in the water or on land it stayed together very well. It's nice that it's able to take the abuse of an impromptu tug of war toy even with dogs that double or triple his weight. Also we frequently use it as a doggie barbell and giant swing toyand it is still in one piece . Obviously it's been damaged by all the play, but so far it is all cosmetic. I can see where it may fall apart in the future, but with the amount of damage it has been able to take thus far I will definitely buy another for Tuxedo the day it breaks. Read more

UPDATE: We finally held onto one of these toys (remember I said we usually lose them!) long to destroy it, so it IS possible! That said, I stand by my review because dog toys are *meant* to be destroyed. It's like watching a teenage boy clean out a refrigerator - it's hard on your wallet but what are you gonna do? *Not* feed your kid?? As with the doggos, your task is keep any eye out and prevent any choking incidents! ;-) Swim Dog Jedi (70 lbs, AmStaff/Shepherd/Husky) and Maggie (50lbs, Pit/Yellow Lab) have tried every toy there is between them and the ChuckIt! Rugged Bumper is the undisputed WINNER. This toy meets ALL the criteria: Jedi wants to dive for it, so it must float. It's excellent for tug-of-war. Nylon toys like the Squirrel and the Flying Ring get destroyed the moment Jedi steps out of the water with them. Maggie wants to tug-of-war! It's *hard* to destroy. I've never thrown any of these away. I've just lost them. The first serious break we've ever experienced was the "snap" of the barbel, whatever the center rod inside the toy. They folded it in half, but there's no external damage at all. It's cleanable. It rinses off or you can use a scrub brush if you want. It can be sanitized. Most important of all - the dogs love to play with it. The ribs give it a nice texture and the heavy-duty straps on each end let multiple dogs (or humans) interact with the toy. My girl loves this toy. She would chase after this thing for hours if my arm wouldn't give out. I see all the bad reviews saying it doesn't last. Listen up people, this is a fetch toy, not a chew toy. We only play with this toy out in the yard for fetch and it doesn't have a mark on it. ChuckIt makes great dog toys, but most of them are not for chewing, they are for fetching. Read more

Our heeler and my brother's heeler mix have a blast playing fetch with this toy at the river, this purchase was actually my 2nd time purchasing this toy, as this one is the backup for if we ever lose the 1st one. It's got enough weight to it to throw it out there but not too heavy, as our pugs can also retrieve it, though they grab it by the strap ends. Floats great and very easy for us and the dogs to see.
