Excellent tamp! I needed a new tamper for a 58mm Lelit Victoria and didn't want to spend a fortune as I just bought a new espresso machine. I search for the least expensive tamper and voila! I came across this one and couldn't be happier. It fits a Lelit portafilter perfectly. It is heavy and well made. Easily washable. Read more
Liked the material and weight. However. I measured the top of the espresso grounds holder at 51mm. The tamper fit the top but did not compress the coffee grounds because the holder was slightly tapered at the bottom. Measure from the bottom of the holder to get your size. I will have to order a slightly smaller tamper if they have it. Read more

Nice handle makes it easy to use and it seems to work well. Price is good and feels durable. Diameter could probably be a little bigger but then tolerances come into play which is fine I guess. Read more
At the time I purchased, this was the cheapest all stainless 58mm tamper I could find. At a whopping $14.97 after tax, I have no complaints. Word of warning. The handle is threaded into the base, and its not tight when you get it. The edge of the handle at the base of the threads is RAZOR sharp from the machining process. Be careful if you unscrew it; its not an issue otherwise. Read more

It wasn't until I watched Alton Brown's "Good Eats" on how to brew the perfect cup of espresso that I knew that one is supposed to compress the grounds. After reading a bunch of reviews on other tampers, I went with this one and am not disappointed. Very ergonomic and fits well in my hand allowing me to easily apply the requisite 40-pounds of pressure (per Mr. Brown) to create the cake from which to extract the nectar of the Gods! I use my 20-year-old Krups machine (hat my wife wanted me to replace with the new K-cup things) but bought a grinder instead. I am by no means a connoisseur, but am happy with my arrangement and this tamper is the perfect addition. Read more
