These pants are amazing! I am a 5'9" woman. 250 pounds. The 2X fit me perfectly. It is maybe a hair larger than my old Columbia bootcuts I had previously but not enough to notice a fit difference. They are so comfortable. I bought these for an upcoming trip to Italy and promptly ordered two more since I knew the fit was right. You will not be disappointed. I just bought 2 more because I love them so much. I don't know what the other 2 reviewers were talking about, almost like they were planted to diss these. So here's my experience. I went to an outdoor store and tried on 18 pairs of pants to only come home with these! I wanted a pant I could travel with that would work as dress pants, hiking pants, and airplane pants. And these do the trick. GOOD: Pull up, wide waist band, stretchy comfortable material, no cargo pockets to dress down the pant, no butt pockets to dress down the pant; Not skin tight, happy day! The thighs are generous, so the pants are more comfortable and more modest for all venues. More of a classic straight leg instead of the trendy wide leg. secret zipped pocket. Medium is generous. I'm a 10 in pants, and these mediums fit perfectly. Lovely classic cut for every need! NOT GOOD: too long. I had to hem them. Probably 33". Material is thinner than I wanted, but it does have a brushed interior to make them workable in the winter. Only comes in black. I would also buy in other colors if they were available. Read more
Preface: I owned three pairs of the old version of Columbia Anytime Bootcut pants, and I love them. I read the comments before I bought this one so I knew they are different than the old version. Sizing: I wore a size 6 in the old version and ordered a small in this version. While I could wear a small, it felt quite tight in the midsection. Style: The style of these pants made it possible for these to pass as dress pants. The waist band is elastic and doesn't have any zipper or buttons (the old version had both). Material: The material gives off dress pants vibe even though it is supposed to be work for outdoor activities. Because the material is a little stretchier, and hugged the thighs more, I personally found it less convenient for sports. Overall: If you want a pair of pants that can work as both dress pants and some mild activities, this is for you. If you want this for more intense activities, like hiking and camping, you may find this a little lacking. Read more
