These are great shorts! They are lightweight and comfortable. I love the pattern! It is very summery and has a white background, but they are not see-through. The elastic band is there but not so tight that they leave marks on your sides. The construction and quality of these shorts is fantastic. I really appreciate the water resistance and UPF protection. The length is perfect to me - not too long, not too short. They felt a little rough right out of the package but after being washed have become much softer. The pockets work well and do not take from the form or function of the shorts. I will say though, I always order a size up when purchasing Columbia shorts and pants. They have always run small to me.
