Very sturdy and will likely last a long time. Unlike some dryers that are just painted to look like metal, this one actually is metal and is quite strong. It is also somewhat heavier than a normal hairdryer, but it is still quite usable as long as you are more conservative with waving it around. I would not recommend this dryer for travel unless you need something sturdy. Read more

We traveled through 12 states in May 2021 while staying in several hotels and cabins along the way. One of our stops had this blow dryer available for our use. I own two of these. While it works, it is a good dryer. The key word - while it works. One was bought before I even knew about Amazon and has been good all these 25-plus years, even after having been dropped by one of my kids recently and sustaining a dent. The other was bought here, through Amazon, less than a year ago. And this is where the problem resides. Should the item go bad after the return window expires (that is where the warranty should be used), there is no one who deals with warranty. See, this is a hospitality item. It is, according to Waring, the division who distributes Conair to hospitality establishments, only should be sold to these establishments. Hotels etc. Not to individual customer. They are sold in packs of four. Now, the item was delivered from KaTom Restaurant supply. According to Waring, who btw promissed to bring this fact to their management, KaTom should not be engaging in selling this item by a piece. Directly or through Amazon. Now what happenede to me: the item got defective after 11 months (3 or so weeks ago). I contacted Amazon and was told someone from KaTom would contact me within 2 days. After a week no one got back to me. I called KaTom, and they simply said Amazon does not want them to deal with customers who bought it here on Amazon, as this creates confusion. I also called Conair, and they kicked me around until I found Waring and they told me they do not deal with it either. Got back to Amazon; they said they'd handled through their A-to-Z. THe latter declined refund as this is not the type of the situation that they handled. Called Amazon again, they promised a supervisor callback within an hour, which did not happen. So, today, after all in all an hour on the phone, a US-based supervisor said "we will make an exception" and they just gave me the gift card for the amount. Which I am grateful for. However, this is not at all an appropriate way to handle the items under warranty. BTW KaTom said, there is their person who is the liason between them and Amazon, but no one in their company knows who it is and how to reach them. This is why I give it 1 star. It is not the item itself, it is buying it here. Buy it elsewhere. And make sure you understand the warranty process, lest you be dealing with the same stuff I have dealt with, call multiple people and get nowhere. Read more
